Liam's...gone?? Are you messing with me?? Because that seems rather dire...

UPDATE: Wow. He really left...I guess that means Sonic Unleashed is canned?? Like wow, I mean I didn't expect him to just up and leave without warning like that. I wish him luck in his future endeavors. I'm gonna miss him. ;n;
Man that really sucks. I do wish him the best but I can't help but feel the channel is really losing something.

Ladies and gentleman, Fans of the super best friends zaibatsu, I have terrible, terrible news. Matt has taken a hiatus from being a part of the best friends zaibatsu, and following him, Liam has left permanently. it is unknown how long Matt's hiatus will be, But this news makes their most recent friday night fisticuffs of blazblue almost not worth it
Oh are we actually talking about this? Maaaan, it's rough. If I remember right, they mentioned that Command Mission was done on podcast. I fuckin hope so cause I love command mission. Liam just talkin about Megaman.exe made my day. So many fond memories of that franchise.

Not shocked after what I'd heard about her.

Fate/Apocrypha is getting a TV anime. Honestly, I'm getting kinda annoyed at how much Type-Moon has been milking Fate. The Tsukihime remake was announced way back in 2008, yet it seems to have been mostly forgotten, aside from the occasional reminder that it's being worked on every few years. Mahoyo was also supposed to be the first part of a trilogy, but it too also seems to have been put on hold.
Hell, Nasu even stated that CCC would be his final entry to the Fate franchise, and look how things have turned out since then.

Apocrypha had a strong start and some pretty cool concepts, but it falls apart due to the author being unable to properly manage such a large cast, laughably bad attempts at romance, and having an unlikable and unnecessary main character. I might still check it out just for the fight scenes, which were actually pretty cool.
So near the end of the year Cartoon Network announced there was going to be another "bomb" format of Steven Universe at the end of January.

And I haven't yet heard anything about who and how it happened, but apparently all five episodes of it just leaked onto the internet as of sometime last night.

Logan is set to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in February, just a few weeks before its release date on the 3rd of March.

Had a busy week and finally got around to watching the Steven Universe eps. And well, there's singing, there's crying, and the plot actually moves forward, so that's like peak SU.

Jokes aside, these were some very good episodes. I found some of the recent episodes to be kind of lacking, but I feel like these are kind of a return to form. My only complaint would be that the song in the last episode isn't that much to write home about, aside from the adorable mini backup chorus.

Although now Cartoon Network is saying that it wasn't a leak at all but that they totally meant to release the episodes online. That seems questionable as they tried to delete them earlier, and so who even knows anymore. The rumor seems to be that CN is trying to sabotage SU's ratings by messing around with schedules, intentional leaks and so on.
Scalebound's cancelled.

Whoops.

And from what's coming out about it, it looks like Microsoft had been really sabotaging the development of that game. It could just be more rumors, but the trend seems to be that beyond a few flagship franchises MS just wants things with mass appeal that can be filled with microtransactions. Unfortunately that's very bad for creativity within the industry and for the development of single player games that "core" gamers would be interested in.

I hate to keep flogging the same horse in this thread, but again that's rather similar to the rumors about Cartoon Network's treatment of Steven Universe. The rumor is that CN only wants to run a ton of episodes of shows with cheaper animation like Teen Titans Go, Mighty Magiswords, and the Powerpuff Girls reboot. Not that Steven Universe is even really that complex, but the claim goes that the slightly better animation and the plot with continuity that makes tons of reruns less intuitive means that the show doesn't produce enough return on investment, and that CN has changed its mind about funding it but can't or doesn't want to outright cancel for some business related reason.

Not that there's anything wrong with wanting to make a profit, that's a necessity of course, but how high the people currently in charge expect the profit margin to be for so low an investment is something that conventional games/shows just can't seem to keep up with. Not to insult people who like Microsoft's other games or any of the shows that I mentioned, but I think that this is a trend that is very bad for these mediums as a whole.
Except Magiswords is bombing, and everyone hates Powerpuff.

In other Microsoft news, Kilgore is $10.

For one character.

A clone character.

The proceeds go to any KI related tournaments and help pay for more characters. (Shadow Jago had the same treatment) Also he's not as samey as we were led to believe. (I bought him and he plays drastically different.)

Also is rather clear that SU is being sabotaged. This is why I don't like CN anymore. They're trying to push junk nobody wants, and it's just plain stupid.

Isn't it more like pushing junk that sells, and we're just all in the wrong age bracket?

I would hate to see corporate greed destroy something that's actually worthwhile, though =~=

It's more a case of every other character being much much cheaper.

Shadow Jago was $10 because he was a fan funded character, and the number of people who bought him was his budget. Kilgore IS hella different, but it still feels like a rip off. If he had two more accessory packs, AND came with an Ultimate? That'd have justified it for me.

NOBODY liked Johnny Test, and look how long that show ran for. Ultimately, the cheaper something is to make, the less people have to actually watch it for it to make a profit. There's a reason there are entire companies dedicated to pumping out shovelware games or knockoff toys. They make money because they hardly spend any on the shit they make.
Bit old news I suppose, but thought was worth a share for those of you into body control irl, or just like some interesting technological/scientific advancements:

...In a similar vein, there's an 'incredibles sex comic' in the 'people who bought this also bought' bit and I kinda' feel like casually selling porn of a disney property is a considerably larger fuck up. =u= Someone's asleep at the wheel.

Your right, Johnny test was trash. Predictable story lines, bland characters, recycled music and the horrid tweened animation to top it off.
