Help me make some cards based on mind control
Hey everyone! So I have this little pet project I've been working on for a couple years now. I've been making cards that have short descriptions of hypnotic suggestions (including post-hypnotic ones), role-play scenes and characters, and a bunch of other stuff related to hypnosis. They're for use with my girlfriend and I, her being my wonderful sub. It's just something to help me keep track of EVERYTHING, because we're generally pretty creative people but our memory gets burned out trying to think of a suggestion we may have used years ago. I'm in the process of refining a good majority of them, setting them to a standard, etc. I had a buddy working with me, but he hasn't updated his ideas since 2015 :(
So what I need help with here, is the "methods" segment of cards. I want to make cards, one for each method of fictional mind control that anyone has ever come up with (that I'll figure out how I want to use later on). Aside from regular hypnosis using a pocketwatch, crystal, pendant, metronome, bodily focus, or even a spot on the wall, is what I'm aiming for. Making a list of every method of mind control is proving a little daunting and I want to wrap this whole project up before I lose all free time to work on it for a good long while.
So could you all list ideas in the comments, to help me get this moving along a little faster? I would greatly appreciate the help. Just make sure to see if anyone else has posted what you're thinking of so we don't get a bazillion duplicates please? :)

Edit: To rephrase for clarity... What are the means by which a character or person could become mind controlled in fiction? for example, if they believe to be an animal, how did they get to that point? If they have magically become a doll, how did it happen?
Stuff like magic spells, or brainwashing machine, or nanobots? Or as already mentioned below, snake with Kaa eyes and smile? Love potion? Ideas like that are what I'm looking for. Sorry to be so specific, it's hard to express what exactly I'm trying to come up with haha
I'm sure we'd all love to see the finished product posted online

That said,

I'll post a link to cloud storage when I'm done. I might forget until the end of summer TBH >.>

But by snake, I assume you mean Kaa or similar means?
Being turned into a robot/doll.

by what means? a machine or some kind, a curse or magical spell, some kind of goo, etc?

I personally don't discriminate if it's Kaa specifically, an OC snake character with a similar design or just a realistic snake- since im not a fan of the vore aspect, my main focus for snake stuff is the victim with the eyes and most likely the big smile, so it all feels like the same genre
Sorry if I don't seem to get it, but I'm still a little confused by your request. Are you looking for standard stuff such as "girl gets hypnotized into a chicken by a stage hypnotist" ? Or are you looking for more creative/ oddly specific options such as " girl gets hypnotized into being a dinosaur by an Elvis-impersonator"? (and before you ask, I have no idea how i got that either. I just put whatever came into my head at the time and even i'm still trying to figure it out :p )

Or am i missing the point entirely and do you want specific events that happened in a fictional show/book/form of media? Such as the hypno-ring from Gilligan's Island?
Random spiral-shaped tumbleweed. You never know when the buggers'll strike.

But in all seriousness, I've got a few.

• Following a hypnotic smell to an overwhelmingly brain-melting source.
• Playful spirit/trickster god casually throwing out mental suggestions and watching the aftermath.
• If you've got a girlfriend that fancies herself a catgirl, a hypnotic box.
• Hypnotic dong.
• Hair-worship.

Let's see if I can add to this list!

First, the classics (though they have been mentioned before, I like lists :p)
• Induction through a swinging item, preferably shiny like a pocket watch or pendant
• Swirling patterns from a computer screen
• Magical spells
• Sneaky sneks
• Sneaky plants with hypnotic aromas or pulsing petals
• Hypnotic (magical?) slime

Hmm... A few off the top of my head
• Induction through song (usually subliminal)
• Staring into fire for whatever reason is really hot (pun not intended)
• Stirring a liquid and using the spoon as a pendant
• Hypnotic accessories like necklaces, clothes, ... usually imbued with a spell
• Trigger words

A fantasy of mine but I don't believe I've seen this specifically on the hub yet (seen similar things but usually the sub is hypnotised before orgasm and the orgasm is just a trick to get the sub deeper):
• Regular ol' sex or otherwise driving someone to orgasm, but then using the orgasm to put someone under by either making it super powerful or a trigger or something like that.

What i'm lokig for is more in the realm of how someone in a fictional world might become hypnotized or controlled (the means, not really the result). So yes, the hypno-ring you mentioned would fit quite well.
I know it's hard to express what exactly i'm asking of you all to begin with, so clarifictation questions are good!
Oh gee I must've missed the point entirely then! Let me correct that! :p

- In the Molly Moon novels, there's mostly hypnosis with the eyes and droning voices. One time, a friend of hers uses an aluminum foil ball to reflect the light off it while hypnotising her.
- The imperio curse from Harry Potter!
- Who could forget the Jedi mind-tricks ^^
- Not 100% sure, but I seem to recall the Artemis Fowl books (the first at least) having some glamour hypnosis humans need to ward themselves from. The effects include but are not limited to obedience, sleeping, forgetting.
- The Dalemark Quartet series has in the first book a bunch of magic happening, and at one point the main character plays a whole army to sleep. It's described beautifully, how with the bass string he reverberates everyone to sleep pretty much.
- Maybe silly to mention, but mythology- or simple folk-story-wise, Cupid does "alter the mind" if you ask me :p bow, arrow, BAM you're in love.
- If you haven't read it or seen the movie, I reccommend Stephenie Meyer's "The Host". The movie does it justice, even though the whole book is pretty much an inner monologue. Not quite hypnosis, but it is posession I suppose? An alien species invades Earth and takes over humans. Idk I always really liked that story. (And the writing's better than the Twilight novels, trust me!)
-Tech control, with a collar or a helmet.
-Parts of the body, like Tits, ass or dick.
-Text Hypnosis, reading a book of obedience or things like that
-Possesion
-Telephaty Prof Xaver style
  • Magic
  • Droning voice
  • Topical cream
lel

  • Suggestions planted in a piece of text
  • "Repeat after me"
  • Sensory overload
  • Sensory fatigue (repetitiveness)
  • Sounds beneath conscious notice
  • Direct stimulation of brain through ear canal ("fiction")
  • Ingested drug
  • Inhaled drug
  • Gum
I am definitely liking a good portion of these!
Please keep em coming everyone! :)
Hmm, here's just a few:

•Listens to hypnotic audio files habitually, being conditioned that way.
•Has a dream that impacts them profoundly.
•Exhibitionist play, which may condition somebody to act in various ways.
•Mask/Costume bonds with wearer, transforming them.
•Reciting Mantras.
•Nanomachines.
•A collar/tattoo that controls via magic/technology, or that acts as a subliminal submissive trigger.
•A marker/pen that is used to write commands on a person's body.
•A book/diary that can alter the people you write about in it.
•Stickers/talisman tags used on subject of hypnotism.
•Parasite/spirit invades the body, transforms host's mind.
•Hypnosis App on phone, either through self-induction or through manipulating targets perception of reality.
•Pheromone injections.
•Absorbing slime.
•Hypnotic makeup/lipstick.
•Person with Disassociative Personality Disorder has one of their personalities (generally an infrequent one) become their dominant personality.
•Genie wish or similar wish-granting device.
It's been a LONG while, but I'm finally able to start really working on this project.
I have a template in progress for the cards. Once that finishes, I'll be making a mock-ups of a few cards to get the idea across, to gauge interest. The hard part will be finding images that can be used for full-art cards AND fit the concept each card implies.
I'll be looking for feedback during the process of making multiple iterations of the cards, finalizing them, etc... and will try to make my thought processes as transparent as possible, so that it can be debated clearly if something needs to stay or go when working on the cards.
Ultimately, I have plans to release this project out to the greater hypnosis community, as I think people could find decent use with these, if not (at the very least) use them to just get ideas from.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2ecyi7akvktrnu5/AACA6ijZ5R4H8m0sAfVQ02Cra?dl=0

Here is a link to a folder in my dropbox where you can see the first iteration, after much thought, of the basic design of the card. The red background is ONLY to show off the light shadows on the outlining. In the future, the outline will be colored to designate what type of card it is, and the background will be full art.
Some feedback would be much appreciated. Tell me what you like and don't like about the layout, and why, regardless of knowing what everything means. Just know that slots for all information that will be needed is in the template.
Hey guys, looking for feedback on the newest draft of the cards. I have made 9 different card types now, differentiated by symbols in the top left of each card layout, to give a general idea what kind of method the card would reference/depict. These categories can obviously be expanded upon, but every method of control will be given a category and made into a card. As I begin to finish up the actual basic card/layout design, I'll start making the actual cards themselves as drafts. I would, ideally, like to have custom art done for every one of them, but that will cost money, as I doubt any artists would be willing to donate over a hundred pieces of art (albeit small-ish ones).

Click the previous dropbox link, then go into the 1.5 drafts folder to see them. They can be previewed in browser.

Edit: on further inspection, I'm highly considering enlarging the text box at the bottom, and adding a bar on the right side to match the left, or perhaps removing the one on the left to the right.
Things I haven't seen mentioned yet:

- Love potions
- Alice In Wonderland stuff like the "eat me" cakes and fungi
- Straight up brain squeezing (that animated series with the blue girl and Buzz Lightyear comes to mind)
- The Vulcan Mind-Meld might count though that's more a link than any control afaik -- in combination with their Pon Far mating rituals though... I think Voyager had a great episode on it where Tuvok ended up mind-melding with someone to sate his urges tho it felt like they had sex really?
- Laser beams like Confuse-Rays ... Maybe I made those up idk shoot a laser gun at someone and poof they're yours.
- In The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe Mr. Tumnus hypnotised Lucy by playing his flute and making the fire dance. It made me feel even weirder in the movie bc she was so young eehhh...
+ Last but not least, and I like this one -- fake it. Fake it so hard you hypnotise yourself into obedience just by convincing yourself.

I very much like the Alice in Wonderland idea, and the fake it so hard you believe it one as well. I think love potion and confusion ray ideas both fit into ideas already on the list that I have, which has some things that weren't mentioned in this thread before.

Also, have you looked at the actual card design? I would like feedback on the design aspect as much as I need ideas for cards themselves, so I can get started. I'm eager to get this into an "alpha" phase, so to speak, so everyone can start enjoying them :)
You need feedback on the "1.5 design" right ? (just to make sure I'm not commenting on something you didn't plan on using anyway)

I really like the general design, althrough I have some questions : what do the " mysticism" and "superhuman" categories refer to ? mysticism sounds very close to magic and occult, and is superhuman a type of mind control ?

Other than that, the logos are really nice and clear (I not convinced by the mysticism one, but being unsure of what it refers to, I can't suggest anything for it)

Also, I wonder if the description box isn't a bit small ? How long would the descriptions be ?

btw there has been a lot of suggestions (bad pun not intended) for mind control Ideas, do you still need more ?

Hope it helps :P

Alrighty, in order here...

Yes, the 1.5 is what i would like feedback on, but it will soon be on to the next version.

The concept of the cards in the first place were to just be methods and scenarios for mind control. So, those categories refer to, for example, jedi mind trick (mysticism) or mental telepathy (superhuman ability)

Mysticism's icon/logo thing was mostly made super generic to avoid latching on to any ONE type of mysticism. We have western, eastern, religious, spiritual, or anything else, so I figured that going the generic route would be best for now, at least. If I could find a more blanket or overarching symbol for it, I would definitely use it.

As mentioned in one of my earlier comments, yea, the description box needs to be bigger. Since the cards are reference to each method of control, I figured an actual description for each method should be there, especially for those who haven't heard of x method before, or for whom a certain method is unclear as to why it's mind control.

Yes, I always welcome more ideas! even if you give me 9 that I already have and 1 new one, I still appreciate fresh info and ideas :)
I didn't even realise I'd answered this topic before -- mobile's too small to read and see porter at the same time, haha

I'd like to suggest using a different font too on top of making the descriptions etc a little bigger, if they're going to be your regular cardplaying deck size. The Dyslexie font is a great one so it's accessible even to dyslexics, but that might be behind a pay wall, I'm unsure. Look around at sans serif fonts on fonts.google.com. Legibility > fun in this case I'd think, so probably stay away from display fonts.

Maybe Josefin Sans or Cicle... not Raleway as the W is weird in that one. Check out Dosis and Cabin Condensed too. These are all fred to use btw, for commercial and personal use alike.

How are you going to fill in the rest, if at all? Somehow I like the idea of see-through cards with blacked out bits where the words go :p

Lol, it happens

Yea, the font was not finalized. I was debating between a clearer font and a silly, hypnosis themed font. But knowing me, always being function over fashion, I would likely have gone with something cleaner anyways. But I will definitely keep your suggestions in mind! I know some people with dyslexia, so even though they won't be seeing or using these cards for various reasons, I'm sure they'd appreciate Dyslexie if I used that one, at least in spirit.

As for the cards themselves... I was going to go for a "full-art" design, where most of the card is just a relevant image (ideally custom art from an artist, but alas, I have little money to spare to spend on this). The text would have a shadow to make it easier to read against whatever image is behind it, since the text boxes will still be over a full size image.
basically, think Pokemon cards, but WAY less flashy.

It's not official, but it gets the idea across ^
Res-ing my old thread again. I've finally taken some time to make a prototype "character" card.
My gf has been playing Persona 5 lately, so I decided to use "Princess Ann" as the first character concept.
https://www.dropbox.com/home/Hypno%20Card%20Drafts
Check out the P5 prototype image in my dropbox and please hold back nothing in feedback. Don't be a dick tho.

Edit: I've also added a "method" of mind control card, starting with the most traditional method of hypnosis.
