RWBY Fans - I just noticed a trend.
So it occurs to me that in RWBY, many of the Menagerie characters are based off of Jungle Book characters (Ghira/Bagheera, Corsac/Tabaqui, etc...).

So... place your bets, how long until we start seeing Snek Fren pop up in RWBY? Personally, my only gripe is that he'll probably be White Fang aligned, and I'm not fond of evil hypno myself.

I doubt something like that would pop up. I like RWBY but I'm really hoping there isn't any bullshit mind control nonsense tossed around. I enjoy that stuff fetish wise, but in a lot of anime it's a nonsense trump card that gets pulled out to often. These guys writing RWBY were born with the internet, they know what would go down lul

IF it appears, I'm confident they wouldn't overuse it. Also, "they know what would go down" probably doesn't discourage them. You remember, this is the show where the actresses regularly do lewd fanfic reading.

Anyhow, it was just a thought.
We still haven't seen any characters with a mind control related semblance either.
Honestly, I thought Ilia was supposed to be Kaa. Reptile lady with funky eyes and a snake-like weapon, tries to persuade Blake to do things...

As fun as it is to imagine Ilia or some Kaa stand-in going to work on Blake's family, the fact is that RWBY treats its fairytale motifs as a loose guideline. So there's not much reason to assume a RWBY Kaa would act much like Disney's Kaa, let alone have mind control powers.

also wasnt kaa a heroic character in the original version
i think your theory has enough holes to be a colander, but I'll eat my own toenail clippings if you end up right in the next 3 volumes .

Less of a theory, more of a "Oh shit, what if?"

But you can keep the toenail clippings, if I'm somehow right, it'll certainly be its own reward.

Definitely an interesting thought, no doubt.
I'll keep my eyes peeled as I watch through the next few volumes, haha
