So slight things (one confirmed one backstory only so far.) Divinity Original Sins 2 has the character Loshe possessed by something malevolent and dark that in at least one case possesses her to deal with a person who might be able to help Loshe get rid of it.

The other ,Sebille, apparently has a tattoo on her face that allowed her former master to control her and make her kill for him. Though that one I haven't seen in action yet.

Anybody have any issues with the games freezing up? I encounter an issue in Phantom Thief Ninja Asuna where a guard moving in a cutscene gets stuck and keeps the game running in the cutscene.
I havent' had any problems like that with these three games, but that sounds like a pretty common RPG maker error. The best you can do usually is go back to your last save and hope that the error was a one time glitch and not due to some odd flag that causes events to just not occur. I had that problem with some of these games:
http://anesutory.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-4.html
Specifically the main one, Saiminjutsu de Toki yo Tomare. Sometimes an event on day four just doesn't happen and leaves me stuck, and on my last attempt I made it to the very last day before a prompt on one section didn't properly change after the flag was raised so I was essentially stuck. These games are also pretty good though, if you're into time stop. And read Japanese.
Hey, I noticed you guys were having trouble getting a text hooker to work with RPG Maker MV games. Here's a tool I use for that.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/p83yxde8e8nrz35/AADkJzbz7VuM7HqwiwhhfhHTa

It's called RPGMVGame Hook and it applies a patch to an RPG Maker MV game of your choice so that all text is automatically printed to a second window(and copied to your Clipboard). You don't even need to use ITH. What's more there's even an option to add a Skip key to the game so you can scroll through text quicker like with a VN.(Especially handy if you're playing Anestory's buggy messes.)

Also, while we're on the subject of japanese RPG Maker games I'd like to throw in one not mentioned, Tasogare Gakuen.

It's pretty decent and has mind control throughout, but it's featured most prominently in the final day. They're currently working on a remake of it but it's very work in progress.

They've also got a few other mc related games but they're either incomplete or a collection of shorts.

Anestory's games are alright. I'm not that into time stop and their mc content is...well...hit and miss. Boy was HypnoViseMemory a bummer(though I get that the point is to set up a darker story).

On the other hand, I highly recommend Arisawa-kun and the Magic Gloves(有坂くんと不思議な手袋). Hypnosis Time Stop(催眠術で時よ止まれ) is also pretty good but unfortunately I didn't start enjoying it until the events towards the end of the current version where he has some real power. That and it was filled with game ending bugs.

Oh, and lastly, probably my favorite RM hypno game currently is Egarashinai/Shiroikuroi's 催眠下校. It seems this site has had some history with them so I'm not sure if bringing them up was the best idea, but it's just such a great game. It's got a premise that I've never quite seen before but it's about two girls mysteriously unable to leave school and they discover they're both hypnotized and their heads are filled with various weird hypnotic triggers that must all be activated to progress through the story. This creates a unique scenario in which mind control happening all over the place but without there being a controller present most of the time. It's pretty great. Except for the incredibly stupid ending.

It's been so long since the maker of Tasogare Gakuen released anything that I'd actually forgotten all about it.
As a side note, apparently Anestory's name is supposed to be Earnestly. So he said in an introduction somewhere. For the longest time I thought it was supposed to be Anus Story or something. I definitely agree about his content though. Time stop is pretty boring for me, and his tone is all over the place. It just feels weird with him constantly trying to set up some large villainous presence while all the actual scenes are generally just silly gags and whatnot. It kind of felt like a slap in the face after I took so long figuring out the stupid puzzle with the names and races just to get a true ending that honestly seemed worse than the normal ending. It also feels like every time he hits on an idea I can actually get behind he never follows through or goes far enough with it, like with the magic gloves. Plus the game ending bugs that have made me restart Toki yo Tomare like 10 times just trying to get to the new scenes just to check them out.
What history does this site have with the people who made Saimin Gekkou? I really liked that game too, but I didn't post it since I was focusing on free games that I've played recently. It felt like it could have had a few more scenes, and the ending was really lame, but it's definitely one of the best RPG Maker hypnosis games I've played.

Finally, I guess I'll add another game that I've played recently:
https://www.freem.ne.jp/win/game/11496
It's called Mizuki wa Ore no Yome, and it's an escape room style thing. The only problem I had is that the last puzzle involves you guessing which reading to use for the kanji for someone's name, which devolves into looking up every reading for that name and guessing until one happens to work. I'd post the answer, but I can't remember what the name was off the top of my head.

There's also this one:
https://shiho-byodoin.booth.pm/items/539059
Whose name is long and escapes me. But in it you play a demon/ghost/cat that walks around a school and can turn everyone into statues, onaholes, or food. The focus is on the transformations, but there's a lot of hypnosis pre- and mid-transformation, so I figured I'd throw it out there.
If we're on the subject of VNs, the newly released OELVN Doki Doki Literature Club has some MC elements used for unsexy purposes. Anything more would be a spoiler.

Huh. I just assumed it was a portmanteau of Ane(Sister) and Story. I'll take your word for it though because I don't know the language.

According to the forth post in that topic, Egarashinai was extremely unhappy with his art being posted here.

Oh, I've played this one recently too. It was decent. Was super difficult since once again, I don't know the language and yeah, I had absolutely had no clue what the original name being mistaken in the journal was as so I had to look up a playthrough for the answer.

:O I've just started playing it on a whim because I suspected that the cute happy stuff was a thin facade and was intrigued to see the twist. Didn't know it had any MC. Now I'm even more curious.

It could be that. It's written in katakana so I assumed it was supposed to be some sort of attempt at English, so after trying to sound it out I ended up at anus story. But he was aiming for earnestly, since that's how he wants to make games. And if you try to spell earnestly with katakana, that is how it would turn out I guess. I wouldn't recommend it though.

Continuing on with talk of VNs, there are a lot coming out in the next couple months. Lune is releasing another Kyonyuu Saimin game, another Fudegaki Soft game is coming out, and Staffing has come back from the dead.

From the preview site it seems like Fudegaki's new Saimin 2-nensei will be better than 3-nensei, which it's a sequel to. A game named specifically for hypnotizing seniors in high school that features exactly two high school seniors in its scenes and basically ignores the rest of the school by saying and not showing them being hypnotized was pretty disappointing. If the point of the game is the guy taking a whole school over, it's not terribly impressive when most scenes make it seem like the school has two, maybe four students. This new one actually has more students showing up, so it's a start.

Lune's game looks to be essentially the same as all four of the other kyonyuu saimin games, but I enjoyed those so that's alright with me. The last two were lackluster compared to the first two though. Despite the last one being a sequel to the first, and adding large right into the name, it felt like there was less than there was in the original.

Staffing is doing a remake of an older series of games, and someone else already made a thread about it, but it is nice to see them making more stuff since they just sort of went quite after the last game was released.

And Ane Ane W Saimin 2 is coming out in October, but I wasn't impressed with the first one, and don't expect much from this.

Here are the preview sites for those, in case anyone's interested:

I've tried quite a few new save files and even redownloaded the game and it still freezes at the same point. Seems like it's some kind of odd event or something.
Ladies and gentlemen, on this sad day, I announce that Moon Jumper, a princely trickster spirit from A Hat In Time has been cut from the game. Honestly, losing the mind-control freak really hurts more than us Hypnofetishists... I feel that Subcon Forest is worse for it. Without someone to control them, the Subcon Village Dwellers feel static, like they only exist for the puzzles, and Snatcher just kinda turns turns from Affable Jerk to Jerk-With-The-Occasional-Funny-Moment without Moon Jumper to play off of.

Now, we do have 2 free DLC worlds coming, so maybe Moon Jumper will make an appearance then, though I'm not sure, as Moon Jumper's theme and designed were modified and made into the Badge Seller. Furthermore, there will be mods, so the clock's ticking until we get a mind-control hat.

Oh, and Snatcher does make a brief mention of the servants he Shanghais into one-sided soul contracts being mindless slaves, but Hat Kid retains all her free will while under contract to Snatcher, (and, funny enough, can even completely blow off Snatcher's contracts and reach the endgame from the 3 other worlds). Might just chalk this up the Snatcher's usual habit of trying so desperately to be scary. (It doesn't work, just got my dick excited, then promptly disappointed. I told you he was a jerk.)

Still a 10/10 game though.
Hit Kid is adorable, and while Hat KID is hands off, I'm.. eagerly awaiting what Hub dwellers will do with spoiler

The BD/DVD for Konosuba's second season came with a megaman-esque platformer game in which the 3 main heroines get brainwashed.
Here's a link to the translated version of the game.

oooh, gonna have to mess with this sooner than later.
To any mobile gamers, the Halloween update for Avengers Academy has Enchantress donning a witch costume and hypnotizing teen Iron Man.
not sure if anyone has mentioned die anstalt. but apparently that's a thing in this german game via a patient named dr wood, if anyone would be willing to elaborate, possibly give dialogue that'd be great
So, maybe I just missed it, but I didn't see anyone mention this little bit of flavor text from an exotic helmet in Destiny 2:

"BRAINVAULT Sigma-ACTIUM-IX Cranial Dreadnought (Invincible Type)

Hello. We understand you require Real-Time Combat Instructives. This is a BRAINVAULT Sigma-ACTIUM-X Cranial Dreadnought (Invictus Type). It is a fortress for your skull. Your skull is now a mighty bastion. You can break anything with your skull. The only limit is your spine. Relax. The lights will speak for you. Your hands are your eyes now. Look around. You find hand-to-hand combat relaxing. The lights will attract the enemy. Help them to relax as well. You will feel the effect of a CAREGRAVER Gamma-LYSANDER-IV Health Enforcer (Frontline Variant). Your enemies do not have a skull fortress. Their skulls are like meadows. Play in the meadows. Gather the flowers from the meadows. Gather them with electrokinetic trauma. Smell the flowers. Isn't that nice? You are safe in your skullfort."

Yeah, in light of the two recent Destiny posts I was thinking about talking about this, but was too lazy to do the transcription.

I was thinking that in the actual game itself there isn't really much in the way of mind control. You've pretty much got the Taken, and since they turn you into a weird shadow-monster thing the opportunities are kind of lacking. Some of Oryx's dialogue in the last game kinda sorta approaches that kind of thing, I guess?

On the other hand, I remember quite a few of the exotic items had descriptions that implied they were cursed or mind-effecting in some way. IIRC there was a Warlock helmet with the description, "This helm was forged from the melted cores of Hezen Vex. WARNING: if you feel an oncoming sense of religious revelation, remove immediately!" Or some other armor that just had the description, "They told me the parasite inside would eat my thoughts and fill my mind with nothing but pure light."

There's also all that weird lore stuff about the Amkharas (sp?) and the implication that they had some kind of corruptive influence on people or on those who turned their bones into jewelry/armor.
I don't know if this has been mentioned on here before, but in the "Overlord" series, you play as an evil demon-sorcerer-lord-thing that can use magic to brainwash and enslave the people opposing you. In the first one, there isn't really an option to permanently enslave people, iirc, but you can specialize in the "Domination" powers, that can turn enemies on each other, and prevent them from attacking you.

The second one, in terms of MC, is in my opinion much better, as there's a whole path devoted to enslaving people through magic. The alignment choices from the first game are replaced with choices between the "Destruction" and "Domination" paths. Choosing the second one will enable you to brainwash innocent villagers, who then follow you around with glowing eyes, instead of killing them. The only weak point is that, from what I've seen, you can't enslave enemies in the second one. Also, the "Destruction" path is generally much quicker and easier.

MC aside, both games stand as relatively solid, albeit slightly dated, interesting fantasy RPG on their own. You can grab the two of them for barely 5 bucks on Steam.
I'm surprised that no one mentioned the game "Sands of Destruction / World of Destruction", as you progress in the game...there's a Lamia who controls the main girl (I think her name was Morte)
The only good thing I can say is that her eyes become empty, my disappointment is that she does not say a dialogue...she just grunts.

This interested me, so I looked into it. For anyone else who wants to see, it starts around 14:45:

Unfortunately we don't see the hypnosis, just the villainess talking bragging. The boss uses a confusion spell called Temptation, but I can't find a video of it.
I just bought Saints Row the Third. Good game, and I don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but there's a "mollusk launcher" in one of the DLC that attaches squid-like creatures on people's heads. They do a little dance, then fight alongside you (even if they were enemies). As an added bonus, it doubles as a sticky bomb, so you can blow them up for some massive explosions !

It's a cool game regardless, but this aspect made it even better for me.
I think there are a lot of Senran Kagura fans here, in this game they control Haruka (surprisingly), if it were in English dubbing it would be great...but I am satisfied with its original audio.
