The Patreon website got hacked not too long back. That said, maybe I just haven't been paying enough attention, but I didn't hear about any actual restricted content getting widely leaked. I thought that it was more of an identity theft fodder kind of thing with regards to the subscribers.

^ You are correct, it was a mass account/password type crack. It would be more likely used to reroute user's money to hackers or the like, rather than having anything to do with content.

Also, fuck forbid that artists and content creators want to be paid for their work so that they can keep making content rather than being saddled with shitty drudge-work jobs >_>.

The year is 2015, you have no excuse to use a shitty insecure and highly exploitable system like patreon rather than making your own site like slugbox did. Bernal's been at it for long enough to have a fanbase of the size where that's a much better idea. Also, yiff.party is another "hack" that's unrelated to the db dump and does contain content.

I have no issue with artists making money. And while Takyon has a history of complaining about minor things, this one holds some water. I'd be hesitant to use Patreon if I knew it had been hacked in ANY way, because it means the money flow is insecure.
