What I initially interpreted as happening here was that the Ami-on-Ami sequence isn't actually a depiction of what's happening to Ami, but rather, a dream she's having. As Ami is being hypnotized, she's also hearing the commands "properly" and they're influencing her to dream about actually being dominated by an alternate version of herself. Then as the hypnotism progresses she eventually reaches a tipping point where it's the dominant one that seems like herself and the "real" Ami who seems like an alternate, and since it's a dream the viewpoint just changes over as appropriate.

The more I look at it, though, the more I think this is meant to be "really" happening, with Dominant Ami as an Aima-like alternate personality who's proceeded to both enslave the "real" Ami.and completely displace her. So she's double-hypnotized in different ways.

Which to me is really hot and that's why I felt the need to share.
