I got the impression Diego's "death" happened almost immediately after the trial where Dahlia and Mia met for the first time, so it's hard to imagine this sequence of events happening in between. So Diego's probably already out of the picture.

If you know your Ace Attorney lore you'd know that's not true. Turnabout Beginnings happened on February 16th, 2013, and Diego interrogated Dahlia on August later that year, thus there is an at least 5-6 Month gap between Diego's "death" and Mia's first trial with Dahlia. Also keep in mind that after the trial Mia and Diego started dating, and Mr. Grossberg can testify to that. So there's no reason to doubt that the events of this pic are possible when Diego was still alive.
Anyways, I'm more interested in seeing a... Different sister/"Fey" to get involved ;)
