Well, I believe there a lot of factors at play here, one the on hand feminization, when done right, is very good.
On another, there is the fact that link has a good bodytype for it, he's androgynous enough that if you cover his face and crotch, its rather hard to tell whether hes a guy or not. Diggerman actually shows this really well here:
