American Mcgee is this big artsy edgelord, who made two games about Alice in Wonderland except everything is goth and edgy, and it's never getting a sequel.

Damn you're harsh about it. I'll admit most parts are goth as hell, but having Alice slaying nightmare monsters while a giant black train flies trough a burning sky is fucking metal. ^^ (and I wasn't talking about a sequel, the story has ended)

Yes, that guy wasn't really the fun kind of hypnotist ^^"

Ah, I'm just being a snarky prick. Never got round to playing them, seeing as I'd prefer to play the original first and have no way of doing so. Respect them though. There's always a place for dark and edgy XD

You could, they added the first game to it when they released madness return. I don't know if that's still the case though.
It's a nice picture, yeah. Credit to the artist. Anyway, very old news but I'd just mention that part of the reason why American McGee originally had traction was that he was a very old hand in the games industry. He worked in early Id Software, back when they were making the original Doom and Quake. So when he started his own studio he had that reputation to work off of. I played the first of his Alice games many years ago, so maybe I'm not remembering so well. But I remember thinking that some of the visual design choices were actually genuinely good, but that the gameplay as a whole was just kind of meh. I've never played the sequel, but I've heard the same thing about it.
Of course the real horrible truth behind Alice in Wonderland is something no one wants to admit, not because it's dark or twisted, but because it's so boring. The real meaning behind Lewis Carrol's allegories had nothing to do with drugs or pedophilia. The real meaning... [spoiler]was commentary on mathematics. Wonderland was about math and how Carrol thought that new at the time developments in mathematical logic were dumb.
