Agreed the problem with doing something like that is it has to go somewhere and it hasn't, it's just kinda there and the fandom has done so much better with it then them

The series isn't even close to over. Why does it have to go somewhere fast enough for your personal enjoyment?

I'm sorry. But that's not true at all. It was foreshadowed in the very first episode. That type of writing is something I highly approve of as well as symbolism.
When I say all this, I do not mean to be disrespectful. I just find it unfortunate that people call something "Deus Ex Machina's" or some other derogatory term of a similar nature when more than half the time, they're actually not such a thing. One reason being is that they were referenced earlier on and played a more important role in the story at some point.
I find foreshadowing and symbolism to be two of the best types of writing form. If you disagree? That's fine. But please be civil when stating your disagreement as I have tried to be in my comment here.

It was sort of foreshadowed in the first episode, but if I'm remembering correctly, it was just Ozpin saying to Ruby, "You have silver eyes." Considering how weird Ozpin acted in the first few episodes (remember that speech he made to the first years right before sending them to get chess pieces in the forest?), that could've meant anything. Honestly, I think it would've been better foreshadowed if they had a part in an episode where they were talking about heroes and heroines of Remnant, and mentioned that one was able to defeat untold legions of Grimm, and we see that said hero/heroine had silver eyes. Or something like that. You know, make it clear that there's a point to the silver eyes line and that it's not just some random thing.

Eh, I can think of worse ass pulls, especially ones not from RWBY.
