there's this mario comic book that i'd be surprised if anyone else has read, but a key aspect of it is a koopa wizard hypnotizes all the yoshis to work for bowser. also i think peach gets hypnotized to marry bowser but can't remember if she was faking it or not.

www.mariowiki.com/Super_Mario_Adventures <---thats the comic

That last part is partially posted here, and no, she was not faking.

i like how when i was little all the hypnosis stuff didn't really register with me and now i see it must have actually meant quite a lot (i read that comic at age 8, same with Oot).

I think Zelda 2 and Sleeping Beauty and yes this exact comic are the reasons I became a hypno fanatic. First I wanted to be the sleeping princess... Then one thing led to another....

and here we are @_@

and just to be on topic and shit...i would consider cloud's whole story in FFVII to be a really good use of hypno/MC in a game storyline. it's not overt hypno like some of these other examples but it does carry all the aspects of mental conditioning and control, also Sephiroth's quest to awaken/save his mother Jenova ties in strangely well with the hypno mythos.

I have always had an affinity for Rinoa being totally and utterly dominated by Edea in the final scene of Disc 1 Final Fantasy VIII. She tries to approach the sorceress and defeat her single handedly. Without looking she picks her up in the air, takes full control of her mind and puppets her to walk on stage with her and be sacrificed for the crowd. During the scene she is swaying heavily and can barely keep her eyes open... I will admit, when I was young, that 4 seconds of FMV drove me far more crazy than it should have. Good graphics were hard to find back then.

Glad I'm not the only one

In the blazblue story, there's a spell called Ruby: Mind Eater that turns the victim into an obedient slave. In the third game, Chronophantasma, it's used on tsubaki Yayoi to turn her into the Imperator's slave/enforcer.

By the way, Polybius deserves a spot here. Changer mentioned it in the thread about thought-inductors and it fits so nicely on this thread...

There was also some mind control in Dragon Age with the desire demons. I haven't played through the entire game but i remember how one of them wanted to start a family with a knight.

Technically, couldn't every video game with playable characters/factions have mind control? The playable characters are always unknowingly under the complete control of an unknown entity (the player). I've yet to see a game where any character under the player's influence disobeyed a command from the player (other than lester the unlikely), even if it knowingly goes against their best interests. I mean, how else could you explain a relatively sane character nonchalantly waltz off a cliff to their doom, without even the slightest thought otherwise? Or tons of defenceless Peasants knowingly running to their demise by a orcish horde in a game of Warcraft, simply because they were commanded to?

I saw someone use them, so they are there, there just isn't a button shortcut so its kinda more of a hassle than its worth, considering its also kinda assumed this thread would have a bunch of spoilers.
