??? suppressing her could just be that because they did their magic wiggy-wonky possession move, now ??? can do that. It doesn't imply to me that in a straight 1-to-1 matchup that ???? necessarily has a stronger will than Terri, any more than driving a forklift implies that you're really strong. I remembered that part quite clearly so I'm almost positive that ??? having a stronger will is not established, unless more details about the rules of the possession in this canon are established later, after I stopped reading.

I strongly suspect that #1 and #2 are the same thing; you think you're establishing stuff but the implications of what's actually on-screen are not as obvious to an outsider as they are to you. So maybe that's something to go on.
#1 and #2 are indeed not established in the game as it is now. (the best you can make out without outside context is that ??? has failed in an attempt to do... something, which led to his current sorry state, and that Terri has similar, if not necessarily identical goals.

As for whether ??? suppresses Terri through willpower or other means, it is entirely irrelevant. To stretch your metaphor, it doesn't matter if you're really strong or if you used a forklift, the job is done either way.
I'm not sure how to make it any more clear without bogging you down with even more lines of dialogue... Already, ??? says specifically "If you were capable of taking dominance, or removing me from your mind, you would have done so." prior to suppressing her, then after having suppressed her and brought her back, ??? says "As I suspected, my will is strong enough to completely suppress yours."

Also, ??? appears with the actual body, while Terri appears as a phantom.

Terri also wanting to rule the world is somewhat less specifically stated, but I believe should at least be strongly implied by the fact that she would want to steal knowledge from an evil overlord and apparently knows so much about managing an evil empire.
I thought it was all pretty clear, truth be told. In medias res is a time-honored story-telling tradition, and I think it works rather well in this case. I mean, I suppose the intro could be reworked to have an omniscient narrator expounding upon it, but I think that would lower quality of the scene.
Just released a new update. I accidentally overwrote the public file, so I figured it would be better to just release it now than disable the game for a week.

This new version adds one new character, (who is a deliberate reference to a character, I'm thinking I might make a lot of the characters into visual references), a defense mechanic and tutorial for it, revamped mind puzzle, and a second puzzle for enslaving the new character.
So how do you progress from assinging youir soldiers? Couldn't find a button.

Sorry about that. I didn't put the fight button into the tutorial screen to avoid accidental skipping, but then forgot to put it into the actual assignment screen. I have a fix for that uploading now.
Huh, almost a full year since the last update to the game. Time really flew by this year. XD

Anyways, I finally had enough free time to finish version 0.03 for this game. Here's what's going to be new when it comes out next week:

- Resolution changed to 1280x720
- New backgrounds added to every location
- Can now walk around the base
- Can now choose to sleep, or masturbate in the bedroom to advance time.
- New splash image added to the Kidnapping attack type
- New splash image added to the Resource Theft attack type; with variations for failure and success.
- New splash image added to the Usurp attack type; with variations for failure and success.
Neat will have to try it when it gets released.

How DA HELL did I miss this up until now ?? I love Adventure High, and this seems just up my alley. Also, from the description I just read, this sounds a hell of a lot like Overwhored... which is awesome.

Thanks, I'm hoping it turns out well. There are some similarities with Overwhored in the premise, though the gameplay will be resource management and puzzles, rather than an RPG.
I managed to get version 0.04 finished. This time not a full year later. xD Just under half a year it looks like. The public release will be on the 24th. Here's what's new in this update:

- Kingdom of Capland, and it's 3 cities added.
- Wood resource added.
- Tael's mind puzzle added.
- Dungeon to hold captives added.
- Can now get and manage daily tribute from kingdoms under your control.
- Can now build defensive structures for your base.
- When hitting 100% Threat for the first time Sandra the Hero attacks.
- Sandra's mind puzzle added.
- Can train dancers to boost Morale in kingdoms under your control.
- Play scene for Tael added.
- Play scene for Sandra added.
The new version of the game is up now.

Very nice, I'll be checking it out. This was a really cool concept (although obviously unfinished) last time I played.

What? There's nothing unusual about the first town's name, I don't know what you're talking about. *sweats nervously*

Thanks, I tried to add some new mechanics to make the game more strategic. Still need to work on refining a few things though, so any feedback would be good to have. xD
so this game is still updated?

Yeah, I did an update a couple weeks ago.
Kept replaying over and over because it's so short right now, and I kept running into bugs. Is there any specific place you would like me to report them, or is it alright just to throw them out here?

You can post them here
Sorry it's taken me so long. Life's been busier than expected.

  • I loaded a save straight from the main menu once, and it failed to load the threat level and food amounts properly. Threat decreased from 98% to 50%, and I lost all my food, throwing me at -259 food for my 259 slaves when I had about 200 food saved up, and it also prevented the background music from playing for some reason.
  • Once I got Tamara to disappear when she should've been in the training grounds waiting for you to talk to her about dancer training, which made it impossible to train dancers as her option doesn't appear in the city menus until you've had that conversation. I don't know exactly what caused it, but it happened after sleeping multiple times in a row, which might be some part of the cause. Haven't been able to replicate it with any of the sleeping options since though.
  • Speaking of that scene with Tamara, you absolutely must use the keyboard for this input as there's nowhere for you to click to proceed with a mouse. Everywhere else you can use the mouse, and I don't understand why there is no way to click when the rest of the game is playable with only a mouse and requires it for most other actions.
  • During the dialogue before the first mind puzzle, for some reason I always have a placeholder background as well as a negative emotion dot in each size in Channel 1, with nothing else in the grid (although I can flip through channels freely and see that each other one has a power of 0). I have no idea why a placeholder is needed here, since none of the other mental conquests have this placeholder while Terri goes through her explanation, and the negative bubbles are also kind of just there for no apparent reason.
  • Speaking of the mind puzzles, Tamara is somehow failing to change her facial pose from sprite-395-2 regardless of how the bubbles are arranged. The exception is when you use your Pleasure Wave, which sets her momentarily to sprite-395-5, which seems to be the correct sprite for that action. Weird that that's the only thing that can change her facial expression though.
  • On some past replays, the Tamara puzzle has started out with my previous solution to the puzzle, and was therefore thrown into an already completed puzzle and didn't have to spend even a tiny bit of power to take her over.
  • I've had a similar thing happen with my first time fighting Sandra, where I didn't have to do anything and could just click "Finish" even though I had never conquered her before.
  • Surprisingly, loading a save in-game after conquering Sandra left Tael with the same numbers in each channel that Sandra was left with when conquered, even though the channels didn't match Tael's bubbles whatsoever. Reloading the save again seemed to correct the numbers, although Tael then started in a state where she was already conquered in fear.
  • The world map blanks out when encountering the defense scenario with Sandra or successfully taking Capland, which means conquering Sandra prevents you from ever taking Capland, and the opposite is also true with no way to increase your threat to attract Sandra. I understand that taking Capland will blank the map out since there's nowhere else to go to from there yet, but I wouldn't think that defending yourself from Sandra would affect the world map.
  • Your food seems to have some sort of negative cap, where continuously sleeping seems to stop draining your food when you can no longer feed anyone in your army. For instance, you start in Capland's area with the 60 soldiers from Datlof's reserve, so I usually just get down to -60 food in my first sleep or two and are then free to sleep forever without going any lower, allowing me to easily recharge up to 100 power with no consequence. My guess is that this is due to the incomplete nature of starving soldiers.
Suggestions:

  • The music is nice when it's fresh and new, but it gets dull pretty quickly. Adding a mute button would be appreciated.
  • Add an option for the defense scenarios to add slaves as defenders faster, say in groups of 10 or something. It takes ages to assign defenders one by one by holding down left click, and a way to speed this up would be incredibly helpful. Also, maybe add a way to enter numbers with the keyboard? The same applies to the city screen when choosing how many attackers you use for raids.
Thanks, I would go into detail in my reply normally, but I have a cold and my brain isn't working so well right now. But I didn't want to risk forgetting to reply. I'll work on getting those things fixed when I work on the next update.
