To help remove the bad taste left by the frankly abysmal Cosmos movies, I've decided this is as good a time as any to revisit my favourite scene from the Live Action PGSM series.
There is a certain naff charm to this early 00s toku, despite the obvious shoe-string production values (yes the cats are being played by stuffed toys), and a lot of acting on the level of softcore porno.
On the other hand, it does have the benefit of actual decent writing, and the main characters possessing substance. Unlike Crystal...

Usagi and Makoto are lured into a trap by the piano obsessed Zoisite, using an already enslaved Mercury and Mars, though Jupiter atleast gets a nice little brainwashing sequence.
I just love the way her arm drops from a fighting stance into total submissiveness. :)

On a sad extra note. Jupiter's original voice actor (Emi Shinohara) has just recently passed away. :(

Ahh yes, the best adaption of the first Sailor Moon arc, hands-down. I mean that sincerely. The character work in PGSM was incredible.

This reminds me, I did doodle some hypno art of this version of Usagi and Princess Serenity. I might have to finish that and post it someday.

By any chance, is there a scene where Rei and Ami are brainwashed, or does it happen offscreen?

Watching the fight choreography... I can see how Japan was the source of the Sentai, and from them, the Power Rangers.

In all fairness to Japan. The ionly actual female centric tokusatsu they produce is actual porn. So this show having the production budget of a jav porn parody is probably production standard even considering how shoestring tight budgets are over there
