Also part of it is simply that each language has its idiosyncrasies which make translating it into other languages require some verbosity to properly convey the meaning.
Most languages when spoken naturally are gonna use words and syntax that can be difficult to directly translate.
But also, yeah, Slavic languages tend to lean much harder on declension (yes, I did have to look up the proper word) within a singular word than English does. Polish has like seven different ways to say a single noun.
