As the topic says, Lewd ZKO is officially closing their Patreon account at the end of the month. Furthermore, in a reply to a question asked on Twitter, they have given permission for the previously Patron exclusive content to be posted freely elsewhere. Link to the Twitter post in question below.

This is unfortunate news, and I do hope it doesn't mean that they are retiring from art altogether, but we must be prepared for that possibility. If that does end up being the case, let us all wish ZKO well on their future endeavors and thank them for all we've gotten over the years.

That is unfortunate news, though I can't say I'd be surprised if they wanted to take an extended break or even leave the community outright.

Zko's compositions have always leaned towards the SFW & light-hearted, avoiding the darker, heavier stuff we indulge in here on Hypnohub. I could never tell if they had a genuine interest in mind control, or were just an artist that accidentally stumbled into success with Skypenotized.

To their credit, I do think Zko tried to cater to the fans and explore hypnosis more, especially with their latest OC's, but if their true interest is art & not specifically hypnosis, then they could probably use a change of pace.

At the very least, running that community CYOA has got to be exhausting. As someone who's dabbled in a little MC writing & art, composition is hard.

Whatever it is, hope Zko gets the rest they apparently need.

Well, that sucks. He was the first person that really kinda pulled me in on here. He'll be missed (if he's full on leaving)

I think everyone's reaction is bit of an overreaction, its entirely possible his IRL commitments are just taking too much time away from the art and he's just rather close the sub rather then possibly lead people along and take peoples money for basically nothing in return.


I'm just guessing but everyones talking like the guy has died or something.

I think he's just focusing more on his job, and won't be able to post art often enough to making keeping a patreon active worth it.

It's like an athlete retiring. Zko's been in "the game" long enough to literally see the birth of new ubiquitous technologies pop up around him and would probably be up for hall of fame consideration if one existed. His leaving the public eye is understandably met with sadness. Also, it's my observation we are conditioned (ironic) to think that departing from independent/fanart work is not something one does without some sort of small crisis that caused them to step away.

The only question I have (and it's not worth answering) is it just an issue of time commitment or does Zko's job provide enough fulfillment that he no longer feels the need to draw in order to get that fix?

I gotta thank ZKO for giving a warning in advance and permitting reuploads of the previously exclusive content. Just another way he's been real good to this community, right? I dunno, I sometimes take it badly when a really promising artist starts deleting their past content when they change plans or leave. So that foresight he had for closing the Patreon is greatly appreciated.

If he does post less or retire moving forward, at least we can have backups of this stuff. It's all something to be proud of after all. If he did this as a send-off to do other things, it would be a pretty good send-off.
