Do you guys think BlueSky is the place to go now?

I asked about people's thoughts on Twitter about year ago (hypnohub.net/index.php?page=forum&s=view&id=106167), and there didn't seem to be any clear consensus on where to go yet.

This time seems different. There are a lot of people on this Refugee Megathread, and on my Twitter feed I saw a few more refugees that weren't on the thread.

But maybe that's just me. What do you guys say?

Bluesky is good to upload pictures, but since the web dont allow gifs and in order to upload videos need to be 1 minute max, I still cant see it as an alternative for a main account, but a secondary place to upload things.

I hope they improove the video and gif features.

No problem Edge Im just glad its working! Usualy most community stuff I do goes under the radar. Im just wondering with all the bigger names who have followed me on Bluesky if they never saw me because twitter liked to supress me and the HAO account or if its because I was helping out with the mega thread. Oh yeah I may not have worded my ruels quite right but that was the intended idea! Feel free to help its been alot of work but I want to make sure the community stays together and if this exodus isnt the real one we will be ready for when it comes next time so there will be less stress on everyone.

So any help in adding people to the megathread is greatly appreciated especily since coincidentaly I had some extra stresfull stuff happen wiht my job that will slow me down a bit as well as I dont know everyone who is on blue sky or may have joined after the thread was started.

I know there is a bespoke hypno thingy on Mastodon, but I feel like I'd prefer active but imperfect moderation on Bsky than the aggressively non-moderated Mastodon.

I think I've said it before, but it's worth repeating.

My understanding is that each server is responsible for its own moderation, which means that your experience between servers could greatly vary and while there are nominally ways for server admins to communicate with each other, that method is only as strong as its weakest link.

The lack of global moderation could be a problem if a glut of bad actors (e.g. bots) flood the site at once. While I don't disagree that empowering smaller groups with tools is good, the largest group should also have power that they actively wield.

Again just my thoughts, but believing that the highest level of oversight should have little to no power has historically been a stupid if not dangerous mindset.
