Hi I decided to make this thread/forum to anyone who wanted to ask and discuss with what happened to certain things. In this case I’ll start it off. I have been lurking for awhile but there was a time where a lot of cyoa’s where floating around here. What ever happened to them? Was it the lack of interest? Did the writers don’t want to write their stories anymore? Did something change in the rules and that’s why no new ones showed up after? I really am curious.

Speaking of CYOAs, there is a new project that is basically a Nook but is compatible with CYOA stories called Ink Console. The physical device looks alright, but I find the SDK more interesting.

Call me cynical but seems like this would be better as an android App you could install on a android E-Ink. Also seems weird to call it Ink and seemingly not involve the narrative scripting language Ink www.inklestudios.com/ink/

I seem to recall the CYOA discourse getting a bit too heated as people debated which routes to go and it got progressively less civil. That may be why less of them happen now.

No I meant all the different CYOAs that were going on in the forums back in the day.



Ah I had no idea that was what was going on. I always thought people just lost interest and well time just went on as at some point the updates just stopped. Speaking of anyone know what happened to the writers of some of those stories? Imasuky is one that comes to mind. What ever happened to them? as I do not recall ever finding out.
