Does anyone know how to remove a child-parent link between posts? Tried deleting the number through 'Edit' and tried the danbooru tag advice - none helped.

Try changing the number by zero.

idpet is correct, you need to set the number in the parent box to 0. assuming the issue was your newest post from yesterday, i just fixed it.
