After lurking here for well over a year I decided to create an account.

I tried to find an avatar but I realised there was some explicit ads on it so decided to make a new attempt on it. But no matter what I did, despite choosing different versions I kept getting the same picture.

Is this normal or did I ruin it by me misunderstanding something?

I do apologise to those that run this site that my attempts on trying may have caused on the resources by repeatingly trying to fix it

I think that's normal. My avatar didn't show up right away when I was trying to switch. I can't see your avatar at the time of posting this. Give it some time. It'll likely sort itself out. If not, try bringing it up in the "Poke a Mod" thread or DM'ing a mod.

It's a cache thing. Leave it alone for a bit and it'll eventually refresh.

You can do a hard refresh after ten minutes, to make sure if Sir_Lurksalaot's idea is the reason. It's different between browsers, but you can easily look it up.

If the avatar shows up for you on the hard refresh, it was a cache thing. If it didn't, you need to send it again.
