Hypnosis kink seems to have gone quiet lately
Visual Novels basically gone

lots of artists gone hiatus 1+ year

lots of forum and sources closed down, I heard from a Chinese friend there's even a crackdown on their side making lots of materials being destroyed

What do you guys think? is this our dark age?

to add on, my last subscription to MindControlTheater in April is basically a scam when there's barely any major release in the course of 3 months. Previous years we could see 5 to 10 releases in that timespan. It's like there's no one do the art out there anymore

Maybe the massive crackdown on content by pretty much every credit company would have something to do with it?

The indie side of hypnosis-kink content creation is definitely less active than it was, say, three years ago. I'm on Twitter/X frequently thoughout the day and I do find a lot of stuff their.

Nowadays most of the content is AI generated and the other stuff is usually locked behind a paywall. I'm guilty of the former myself.

I wish people were more social, like back in the early days of the Hub. I don't think we're in our dark age... yet, but it wouldn't hurt for us to reach out to one another... maybe post on the forums more or something.

I'm in a few small scale hypno communities, (Okay, well, mostly just one, that being the hypnokink TTRPG group I run) so I don't know if I've felt the same diminishing's of the hypno community as a whole, since outside of my pocket I haven't REALLY been vocal about anything. (Outside of one space that has since shut down, R.I.P)

But yeah, I notice a lot less comments on things and forum posts more recently than before.

so is this the clean up time? no more porn for our kink? people now just curl up in their own corner? are the artists being bully to be so?

I do know that porn community out there consider us to be rapists and misogynists, but hell, it's fucking fantasy man, why all the hate?. We can't even be fun on our own?

No one Hates us specifically, so much as we are easy to paint into a corner.

Whenever puritanical forces are in power, they inevitably try to crack down on porn, and they will aim for acceptable targets first. "acceptable" in this case being "who we can turn public opinion against the easiest'.

In that process, some hate is sown to get people on board, but by and at large it is performative. The driving forces behind the crackdown dislike All sex beyond their narrow definition of it. And they dislike it pretty much equally.

They act on religious grounds, and the denominations that encourage these actions are as black and white in their thought process as they come. Doesn't matter if you commit a sin "only a little bit", you are still going to hell. So, all porn will end up in their crosshairs eventually.

Once we are suitably cowed by their estimation, they move on to the next easiest target, betting that the rest of the porn industry won't try to help the black sheep of the family. Right until the whole is weak enough to crack down on the remainder all at once.

They do not care about us. We are just the practice run.

As many others said, we had a "purge" going on to appease some of the clients of the CC companies who, reason one to another, aren't keen on porn.
And we, being a specific kink with a ridicolous amount of enjoyers over others, are an easy target because we simply don't have the numbers to properly retaliate (imagine if they tried this with the BDSM community instead... the response would have been WAY more massive).

At this point, either you go with those few who are still active (usually those whose major work is not hypno-related) and ask for a commission (private one), or use their already existing material (one example is UnusualFishGame), you make it yourself (manual work or AI it is, although the second it's always best going for local generations if you can... Civitai itself got a purge on some kinks, including hypnosis, not long ago... so online generators are not safe either), or hoard the classics on your hard drive (the big one), and go with those.

Visual novels are gone, but there are more and more great games on dlsite with a focus on hypnosis. I don't necessarily think overall quantity of content has decreased.

Well, of course, DLsite is a Japanese outlet. The US going a bit stir crazy is not going to affect that much~

It is just a question of people knowing DLSite, well, exists, and hosts English content besides. I doubt many people do.

We should let them know~!

If memory serves, there was also a fan project of a program for automatic translations of a Japanese visual novels into english, directly into the game screen.

Considering it was an old project, I wouldn't be surprised if they (or someone else) made a huge leap on that.

It's definitely still more active than it was 10+ years ago, minus the purge of hypno/mc content in mainstream porn.

Yeah, I get that feeling too. Where, even though there's more people in the space than ever. People just... don't talk that much.

Hey! There are still people like me who are just getting started ♥️ I'm pretty new to posting here, but I've been around a while. So... I guess I was a part of that silent majority. idk if I'm the norm... I tend to be pretty asocial, so I thought talking with a community would be scary...

But turns out it's not! Almost every interaction in dm's I've had so far has been nice, with good people showing love ♥️ as we should! ♥️♥️♥️

from my point of view, a lot of the artists and content became more decentralized with everyone keeping to there own space, making there own discords which often times are behind a patreon/subscribstar sub.
not too mention plenty of us getting older and maybe just not a lot of new blood out there to replenish the hobby.

Not saying they AREN"T out there but that everything has just became more spread out.

and whoever was talking about MCC, i feel the same in that they have really gotten slow with there updates even to the point there calendar is often blank most times.
Could be they have been more focused on there irl content with there movies.
