Should we worry about what happened to pixiv?
Banking agencies believe they can control anything they see as dirty, as if their only job wasn't simply to accept payments. This is a fetish that is impossible to recreate, so this drama comes across as just another attempt to silence anything, resembling typical political garbage to cover up the real crimes that these elites commit. But even if that's the case, a lot of art, even from many years ago will be lost, and it won't stop there, so should that be a bigger concern? Like, something to end up doing backups of the site?

To a point, Yes. But not to the extent we should worry about the rest of the industry?

The Americas and Europe are more integrated with the United States, where the payment processors pushing their politics are based.

Modern Japan is a close ally of the US, but they were and are mostly doing their own thing economically. Their media as a whole, let alone their porn, is saturated with shamelessly undisguised fetishes.

Not to mention, the majority still follow their native religion(or a complex meld of it and Buddhism thereof). Their main deity is a narcissistic bi-disaster fox woman. Compared to all their hundreds of thousands of spirits, she is pretty tame.
They do not give a single shit about fundies moralizing to them. It's like if the Greeks still believed in Zeus, or Hermes, and the neighbors told them to stop depicting bestiality, or using stone cocks as road markers. It's just not happening.

If foreign processors try to squeeze their bizarro porn industry too much, they will just migrate to sites supported by their native payment processors eventually.

It may become a pain for us to pay Japanese artists for their work. But they will still get paid.

I'd focus on your own government, if I were you. Let them know you do not want processors dictating what you can and cannot buy.

If fundies were the only issue, these measures wouldn't be happening. Puritanism has many homes across the political spectrum.
But regarding Japan, I wouldn't be too sure. Culture changes quickly these days because of the internet. The language barrier is a thing, but they all learn some amount of english.

Try to live up to your name a little less.

The difference between 'learning English' and 'the primary culture of an insular, developed nation neck deep in its own national pride Adopts the Mores of US extremists because something something Internet' is astronomical.

These people do not...hang out. Fundies and, puritans, jeez(also originally a religious group mind you) are not, usually, super personable people on an international level who just Happen to have some extreme beliefs on bedroom activities. They are, as Groups, close-minded, xenophobic racists, and the laughingstock of the planet.

Especially the internet facing parts of these groups are Pretty Extra, to say the least... People aren't just Waiting in Awe hearing what they have to say as they write barely coherent rants on /pol/. Japanese people are not on US right wing youtube.

What's Happening here is that some of these groups have money and influence to throw around with Local, Moneyed Interests, who in turn can pressure their business relations overseas. They are not exporting foreign belief systems to the Japanese, who threw out far, far more persuasive attempts at that for the last 600 years. That's not in the cards.

This whole angle is silly.

I assume this is specifically the new wave of Fanbox bans?

Please provide context next time.
