News on the site's bug issues
After some sleuthing, I managed to find, and talk to, the programmer responsible for keeping the site up to snuff.
They were very nice, and I have no reason not to believe what they said.
(I asked for permission if I can share this with people, they said it is ok)
Turns out there is a lot of crossed wires and personal issues going on.
The individual in question is divergent(attention deficit among other things), a lot of bug reports just get lost from their desk. Further compounded by a period of clinical depression. I mean, considering their workload? I Get it.
This combined with the fact they are not usually interacting with the reporting interface personally (mostly someone hands the reports To them) results in the many delays.
I was among the most vocal critics of this situation. You can imagine I am rather humbled by how innocent the real reason was < - >
I also mentioned to them that maybe, we could ask Detour, Edcell and other site-savvy people to get on the case and take some load off them. These issues are what they spend their free time mitigating anyways. I at least believed some of them would jump at a chance of a direct fix, if it was offered to them.
I got the impression they are Open to getting help. But unfortunately, moot point. Turns out, with HypnoHub specifically, for some bizarre reason, the code is under a nondisclosure agreement. No dice on giving volunteers access to the backend any time soon.
They did, however, promise they are currently focused on fixing the ban issue! That is not, related, to me talking to them about it, btw, it's a coincidence. They just got one of Detour's notices earlier today.
I hope this gives people much needed hope the site will get better in time:3
