Some might have realized one thing regarding Ranko's mom since Akane brought her up. Those who have seen the last several episodes of the anime and/or read the original manga are probably wondering how D-Zen will handle what Nodoka will no doubt disapprove of but don't worry, he's thought that far ahead. He's lived for over 700 years, so he's got plenty of wisdom and a fair amount of foresight. He's a trickster after all. ;)
