It's simple, for once.

Ciel has mystic eyes of whisper. She can make anything she says sound trustworthy, so long as no evidence to the contrary is present and she is looking at the target.

It is being used here to convince Ritsuka they know each other.

I see. That is simple. What happens when someone provides evidence to the contary? And I assume she can only do one at a time

If evidence is present at the time the eyes would zonk them, it doesn't work.

Once they buy into a suggestion, the subject will do their best to rationalize contradictions away. It's a tossup if they believe their memories or the evidence.

And mystic eyes in the Nasuverse are generally only limited by your vision range. As long as she can see you, it should work.

This also means people who can't turn their mystic eyes on and off may have to cover them up, or block their effect, so they don't go around charming everyone they meet or turning them into stone.

But if she needs to tell you, then how about deaf people?

Writing our sign language should work!-

Wait. Is this a bit? Are we doing a bit?

Not realy, just confirming all bases are covered. But even if sign language could work, does she even know sign language? Actually that could be a fun gag. Kinda like visual hypnosis not working on Toph. Auditory hypnosis doesn't work on deaf people

also, I have a bad habit of needing to understand down to the smallest detail. it's one of the reasons I often have a headache after a time travel movie because I'm trying to keep the logic straight. like if John Conner is eliminated in the past, doesn't that mean that the reason for the Terminator going into the past is eliminated, causing the change to be negated or a parallel timeline to be created. not to mention the father loop in Terminator. I know it doesn't really matter now, but I can't help but wonder who John Conner's original father was

I would say you are doing it in the wrong order. Before you try to keep the logic straight, you should figure out *what* is the logic. Different worlds have different mechanics. For example, in regards to time travel models, in Back to the Future time travellers are still causally attached to their original timelines, sort of trying to keep the model a straight line, but the same doesn't apply to Steins;Gate because it builds upon (a variation of) the multiple worlds interpretation, so in there it will always cause a divergence while looking like the new data/matter just suddenly appeared in the universe while everything else is internally consistent. After the rules are established, then you start looking for consistency and contradictions.

Sending a Terminator to the past to kill John and it not causing a paradox is not a problem unless there is another similar case in the same universe where it does cause one.
