Still can't believe the Director actually let me go to college! She told me I'd still be on call, but that's a lot better than I was expecting! I wish I could tell what that woman is thinking, sometimes... she's actually harder to read than any of my sisters (sans Abby). Given how much stronger than here we all are, it's a complete mystery how she pulls THAT off. More experience, I guess?

Anyway, I know it's just a scrap of paper, but I REALLY want that doctorate. I'd say just for the sense of pride and accomplishment, but really... I just want to be called "Doctor!" Though, now that I think about it, I don't really have a last name to go with the title... or a name at all, technically... Shit. What did I put down on the admission forms?! Guess I'll have to check later...

Anyway, I've been trying hard to live like a normie throughout class, but I can't say I'm doing great. It's kind of like trying to walk with your eyes closed? You can't help but peek. I just gave into the temptation during office hours today: The class cutie is such an adorable brat~ Decided to get 'em signed up with me for some "tutoring" sessions after I wiped their memory, so I suspect I'll be even more "distracting" now.

Hm... I wonder if Kay's "dreamwalking" techniques work on daydreams? I bet I could dance around in their head while they're trying to focus; reinforce their programming and make 'em squirm. Maybe I could even make it self-reinforcing, like some kind of tulpa? Put a little mini-me in their head to constantly boss 'em around!

But that's tomorrow's plan. Right now, I just got the sense Tracey's about to show up to my dorm. Guess I'd better get suited up for my assignment... Or... Wait...

...Why do I feel like my powers are telling me I should set up the CHESSBOARD!?

Random question, if you don't mind me asking. How do you actually make manips / how did you start? What software do you use, how do you come up with ideas, etc.? I want to try to make some, but I have no idea where to start, and I've always liked what you make!

I use a free image editing software called GIMP to actually do the image editing. You tend to develop a "style" after a bit in regards to font choice, text arrangement, etc. but that's something you just have to figure out yourself through practice.

As for the story concepts, it kind of varies. Sometimes I just come up with something that sounds hot and try and write it down. Other times, I see some other hypno media do something and it gives me an idea. Sometimes I just see an image that gives me a certain feeling. With the AI art manips, it tends to be more the former (and I've gotten a lot pickier about image quality over time), but it's also pretty common that I edit the text extensively after I've done a first pass of the image and layout.

One piece of advice I'd get is keep your text short and sweet. This is a lot easier if you're not demented like I am and aren't trying to add actual WORLDBUILDING to your porn, but it still bears repeating. The text needs to be short because you want your font to be very big for legibility and your image dimensions as close to a perfect square as possible. If you absolutely HAVE to go longer with the caption, try adding another panel to the other side of the jmage and going "widescreen" while cropping down the margins. Absolutely don't use hard to read fonts or colors under ANY circumstances - try and find colors that look nice with the image they're captioning.

Quick addition: If you need more advice on the "writing captions" side of things, think about what presses your buttons and be shameless about catering to yourself. Doesn't mean you shouldn't ever go out of your comfort zone or that a manip will always land, but if you don't find it hot, other people probably won't either.

Like, the Psi-Girls series exists because femdom Sabrina (of Pokemon) is fucking hot and it got me thinking about what other kind of hypno stuff you could do with psychic powers.

Sometimes there'll be duds that don't come out right or don't quite land, but that's just the nature of it.
