Day 5



After a day of ignoring her, it occurred to me that Serenitys soldiers havent made any efforts to save her. With the resources they had, I expected them to break down our door sooner than this, but aside from Planet Nemesis own hostile entities, our kingdoms walls havent had any new scratches on them. Remembering why she was here to begin with, I decided to go back and press Serenity further. Shes been harmless if rather annoying so far, but shes my enemy and I will make that clear to her.



Perhaps I shouldve waited a bit because she was awake, but still in bed when I got there, and she evidently sleeps with little clothing. I may have admittedly stared a bit before jolting away. No amount of underwear would sway me. I could hear her asking me what I was here for so early in the morning, and I demanded to know if they even knew she was here. She admitted they did, and they werent coming.



Having been preparing for a battle to decide this decadent universes fate, in that moment, it took every ounce of willpower I had not to jump out that window headfirst. Id have thought she came here without their knowing, some kind of ploy they thought wouldnt work so she went behind her back, but no, this was a one-sided war, in that my side was the only one raised to care about it. She was here for diplomacy.



She could tell I was infuriated, and invited me to rest with her in bed, reaching her arms out, as if expecting me to just throw myself into her embrace. The sheer audacity she had put me through a loop. Were my father in this position, hed have had her executed on the spot. But Im not my father, so instead I found myself just taking my regal outfit off and joining her in bed wearing my undershirt and pants. And were my father alive now, I wouldve been the one executed on the spot for that. But he was consumed by hellish creatures that now roam this planet when I was 9 and Im now in the arms of the most beautiful woman in the Multiverse, so Id say I won.



A moment of weakness by all accounts, but after a lot of unease, her gentle touch was admittedly comforting, I gazed up and saw her gazing back down at me, her eyes like a pair of sapphires glistening in an otherwise dimly lit room. My own eyes fixated on them as if on instinct, magnetized to her irises as they almost seemed to swirl like galaxies. Given the extent of her power, I wouldnt be surprised if they did. My mind was beginning to feel weightless, but my body felt much heavier, I couldnt bring myself to even move an arm let alone get up, I just kept staring into those beautiful eyes



Apparently, time moved a lot quicker than it felt to me while I was in that daze, enough for Saphir to knock on the door and Queen Serenity to answer, gently setting me down on the bed as she got up to answer. I could vaguely hear the conversation echoing like it was miles away to me, something about some meetings that didnt feel too important to me, and Saphir seemed content to fill in for me while I stayed here. Soon enough, my Queen returned to me, smiling down at me



Day 7



I realize the last entry had some interesting choice of words. Ill just say that Serenity and I had a talk after all that. We vented some frustrations about our positions, how difficult it was to keep track of everything and everyone we need to look after, and how rewarding it was to know our people live another day for our efforts. I get the feeling shes way better at it than I am, but the common ground is comforting nonetheless. I even told her she was allowed to roam the palace if the room was too stuffy for her.



I assure you, its for practical reasons, once again, Im winning her to our side. Ive heard few complaints about this strategy, the Ayakashi Sisters seem to enjoy chatting with her, even Esmeraude seems to have taken a liking to her. Saphir pulled me aside and talked to me on this, asking if I had a plan here going forward and I assured him I did, but he didnt seem convinced. Still, he offered to fill in for me a bit longer so I can keep an eye on my Queen. Im glad hes here to help me with this.



I accompanied Queen Serenity around my palace, letting her see the beautiful view of my kingdom from the highest balcony. What little kingdom we have anyway on this desolate planet. She was rather unhappy to see the state of the place, my people practically huddled up in a corner on this world, hostile monsters beyond their understanding constantly clawing at the walls. I solemnly told her what my father told me, Nemesis is where we would stand proud, or die on our feet. She told me I dont have to do what my father had planned for me.



She then said she could deal with them for us if given time, and I got the feeling she knew more about them than I do. Looking into those beautiful eyes, how could I refuse?



Day 10



Its been a few days and the noises outside the walls have quieted down. I slept soundly, but began dreaming of some rather odd things. I dreamt of a universe unfamiliar to me, one Ive seen in a few paintings passed down through my family, but Im not myself. Im another prince in some kind of armor, meeting someone in private, a lady whos almost identical to Queen Serenity, but I called her Princess instead.



We talked of a war my parents were waging on her and her mother, her promising me that she and her mother wish to end this peacefully, if my own kin would hear them out. Gently taking her hand, I gazed deep into her beautiful eyes, promising her Id speak with my father about this, that I would see her again once this is talked out. The way she smiled at me made my heart melt, like it was worth more than any conquest or victory over anyone



The last thing I saw before I jolted awake was a vein-covered woman with red-piercing eyes, her pets surrounding me



I woke up in bed, Queen Serenity still asleep next to me. I was tempted to wake her up and ask her what this meant, but decided against it. I got out of bed without waking her and wondered what this could mean. Was I doomed if I went with her or was this a warning of something I need to avoid? I was told by my predecessors to stand my ground against Serenitys family, stand victorious on Planet Nemesis, our peoples prison, or die on it with my head held high. But centuries untold on this planet have made what was once a proud population into an endangered species. By the time I was born, there were only 3 cities on this planet. By the time Saphir was born, there were only 2, and by the time I took the throne, only 1.



Day 11



I made a hasty decision the other day, using my Evil Eye once more to put Queen Serenity into a trance. By the time she snapped out of it, she was back on her planet, hopefully unaware of where we were going. It was very tempting to just stay there with her and wait for her to come to, maybe she needs a consor-



What am I saying? Weve been one-sided enemies for years, she has a far bigger empire to run, and shes already helped us enough. I took her words to heart, I wont do what my father planned. Ill find a way to make a new home for the Black Moon Clan, perhaps make them as prosperous as her people. I see more merit in making her proud at this point if Im being honest. And so, weve left Nemesis behind, an empty planet, no longer our prison. I need to help Saphir and Esmeraude scout for a good place to call home in the meantime, so this is the last time Ill be writing for a while.



My ancestors wouldve thrown me against the wall for this, but they died on a rock stewing in hatred and Im giving our people a new chance at life. So Id say I won.
