For the full context:
The Stake Night crew have spent the last couple of sessions exploring a spooky haunted house. A dog has joined them in their investigation. And Ms. Pauline suggested the group split up to look for clues.
With her player being such a fan of Hanna Barbera cartoons, certain comparisons were inevitable, and, well, give the people what they want.

...hypnosis via pretty coin of gold has not happened in the actual adventure...YET...but it was inspired by the events, not directly based on them! >,<
