In the Mesmeric Multiverse, Remnant had a bit of an upheaval after things went down in Atlas. One notable change was Weiss' father kinda tanking the family business. Badly. Then he became a husk of a puppet to the Darkness in his Heart, and Weiss had to put him down. Not sure she's losing sleep over that last part. But while she can live without a life of being locked up and only brought out to look nice at parties, woman's gotta make money, especially for her mother and siblings. Good thing she knows a guy looking to revive his own family's Dust business, and he's quite the charmer...
