So this means that Badges are like upgrades to the Pokéballs then? Because you can only control Pokémon up to a certain level until you get the right badge to increase the cap. That...kind of makes sense. ._.

But only traded pokemon.

Unless you are able to tap your badges to the pokeball, they see you as inferior to their former owner.

Depending if you talk about the game, or the manga. The manga explain that Badges are devices which grant a greater control over pokemons.^^
