Hypnosis is one of the deadliest weapons a plant (or anyone) can posses. This particular plant is one of them, but can only use it when the air gets warm enough - the warmth of the sun causes a chemical reaction which makes the plant go brighter and causes the end of its tentacle to shine a hypnotic light. Otherwise the plant seems quite harmless...
