These particular sort of talismans are most similar to Chinese <<en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fulu|Fulu>> like those traditionally seen on <<en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiangshi|jianshi.>> There's also the similar Japanese <<en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ofuda|Ofuda.>> In case you didn't know the characters written on the talismans in this pic say "saimin", the Japanese word for hypnosis.

I wanna say something with spirits. There was a character from Darkstalkers iirc that had it. Iunno much about the series tho, so someone else could probably explain it better.
