I know I'm probably wrong but I think I have answer(s); 1) either she's so "out of it" that she'll follow any orders, and was instructed by mad thinker. 2) similar to 1, but instead the one who gives her orders tries to sound like mandrill.

Dis Mandrill just get forgotten after this?
i tried reading [skimming] this and just . . . i don't know if i missed t or not but it looks like after this the comic just forgets about him.

Well, while he was outlining his plan, Thinker implied that he fully expects Mandrill to eventually be caught (he lists him among the 5% of the inmates who will have to stay behind), most likely when the shrinking gas starts to wear off (in a little more than 3 hours after this page) and he is forced out into the open. However, if he did manage to guide the guard off the island before that happened, he could, theoretically, escape.
