No it isn't.
It's just an optical illusion, making the Katana seem to be missing/elsewhere/etc.

I don't think so. The angle the hilt is pointing at and the angle the blade comes out at feel significantly different.

Probably because I like having honest arguments with people, I enjoy having hypnotized slaves be aware that they're hypnotized, keep their memories of who they were before they were hypnotized, and be able to explain themselves to people who want to free them (be they people who know the person who's hypnotized or strangers who were in contact with the person's owner and found out what happened to them). A line I intended to use in a roleplay regarding someone being addressed that her feelings towards her owner are "not their true feelings" have them use the example of lab-produced diamonds, which are artificially made but still real diamonds (I couldn't think of a better example, don't kill me) to explain that just because she has her feelings to begin with because she was brainwashed, that doesn't mean they aren't her real feelings or that having them is wrong.
