Any good twitter alternatives for NSFW or hypno ?
Hey,

So, twitter's going from bad to worse, and it kind of just keeps going at that.
Also a friend read the terms of services that are coming by the end of september, and it's "twitter gets all sorts of rights to the images (commercial, modifications, and all) and will use them as food for it's own AI" kind of bad.
So, while I'll be looking to confirm that, it can't hurt to start making another account right ?

And on that note, does anyone know of a good alternative for NSFW ?

I hear about alternatives every now and then but it stays very SFW oriented, so might not be suitable for what I'm gonna post and look for.

I just want a place to post dumb NSFW doodles and follow artists ; _ ; )

Maybe the pixiv mastodon (pawoo), although there aren't too much people there.

For now it's some mastodon places are only social network I know they don't have restrictive rules against nsfw.

Sadly, the only reason why a lot of artists are still on twitter is because other places don't let them publish stuff or if it's allowed there aren't enough users.

Yeah the slow death of Twitter has actually been much faster then I expected. Sure it'll limp on for a few years tho. I'm mostly waiting for one winner to emerge before I invest in some other platform too much

Cohost seems good. Very Tumblr in it's layout but much more NSFW friendly. Not too many users and I don't know about discoverability yet tho

Mastodon has a few servers that allow NSFW including a hypnokink one (triggerphra.se) but TBH. I don't like the layout and it's not user friendly

Newgrounds and Bluesky are other options I've seen people use but not looked too much into. Still waiting on a bluesky key for now as well

Mastodon is probably your best bet for now due to its "federated servers" and the staff's seeming general hands-off approach, but once someone exploits that, I can't see the platform last long.

The short answer is any platform that handles financial data is going to come under intense scrutiny at some point. Unless there's a platform developed by someone independently wealthy enough to sustain said platform without asking for credit cards, every site is running on borrowed time; I feel like that's just a part of being in this space.

That being said, if AO3 ever allows pictures, watch out.

A few smaller ones I've been keeping an eye on are itaku.ee and artfol.co. I don't know the specifics of what kind of NSFW is allowed, but they're worth taking a look at.
An older one (relatively speaking) is Pillowfort. You can browse it as a guest, which is nice if you're not certain if you want an account. They also have "communities", which are groups for certain things. They do have a few small hypno communities.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions ! I heard most of those names somewhere, but without any idea of what's what.

It's always super interesting to hear more about people's experiences and stance on those kind of website, especially now that there's a ton that popped up to try and be the new twitter.

out.

Yeah that's fair. No website's above cracking down on porn at some point.

I'll probably try two or three and see what happens then.

At least bluesky since I got a code, but I don't know who to follow so it's a bit empty for now. We'll have to wait and see for this one I guess.

If you're looking for rule 34, try a site called paheal. There are 2 versions of the site, an older and a newer version. The newer version let's you search by tags, the older version is just tagged by character.
Also, if you are into furry, there's e621.net

Oh ? I guess I should look it up sometimes. But I'm more looking for something akin to twitter or tumblr. Rule 34 or paheal aren't really made for wips and following artists, or stuff like that.
Still, thanks for the tip, might be nice to have a place to post non mc related work that's still unsuitable for the sfw account hehe
