Status ailment that triggers mind control or mind alteration
Hello everyone, I knwo we have a video game topic but I wanted to talk about something very specific: status ailments that can control or mind alter characters in-game (in battles).

I have been told "marin karin" can make your characters love to buff enemies and give them items you have in persona 3.

I also know stuff like confusion in FF games. There are 4 examples I love from dragon quest XI that feature big muscular cyclops with 4 arms that can hypnotize party members into being charmed by these muscular creatures (they start to betray the party and attack them and it works on males and females).
Still in dragon quest XI there are cactuses that can mind alter party members into laughing instead of battling.
And still in that game, some enemies can use hypnotic dances to make your party member not only dance but mentally feel like having fun while they do instead of battling (they laugh and are fooling around so it's not mere body control).
A 4th example: some male monsters in that game have hypnotic dazes that can charm anyone (males or females).

A famous example is king booga: a fat and ugly monster who charmed Jade (one of your party member) outside of battle so she loves him and betray very team. During the boss fight king Booga very regularly trolls the play by spamming hypnotic dances moves and hypnotic dazes.

I was wondering if you knew stuff similar to that. And even if they're not status ailment (for example in more action oriented games), if stuff happens that affects your gameplay (like you start to love enemies or you become confused etc ...) It counts ^^

Before it got shut down, Avengers Alliance had tons of different mind control related mechanics. Some highlights:

"Mind Control" was a pretty common debuff, which nearly a dozen playable characters and even more enemies could apply. It had a 50% chance of making you act as a human shield each time an ally uses a single target attack.

The Enchantress had the ability to induce a love triangle between herself and two opponents (regardless of gender). One would be Charmed and had a 50% chance to lose each turn fawning over her, while the other would be Smitten, and would attack the charmed character in a jealous rage if the turn wasn't lost.

Mysterio would afflict your whole party with hallucinogenic gas. If it wasn't cured before his next turn, affected characters would feel the effects of his next illusion as if it was completely real.

In one unique encounter, Emma Frost is able to apply "Brainwashed" to an enemy, causing him to attack his allies any time she took damage.

In another unique encounter, Spider-Woman can use her seduction pheromones to make two of MODOK's lackeys (both women) fall in love with her and exclusively use healing moves on her.
