I bought Ruby back when it came out. Really liked it at the time, but honestly don't have very high opinions of Hoenn these days. I especially just hate how many HMs there were to deal with at the time. And THREE water HMs? Seriously? Most of the Pokemon designs were nice, though.

In my case was a curious experience.
Ruby:
-I hated how the first 2 gens let me start with my pidgey and rattata and finish the game using them and now they force me to use new pokemon xD.
- I loved the phone feature and the day/night feature from pokemon gold, and they removed it.
-I was really dissapointed with the last evolution of Treecko.
- I hate it the animation for Buff/Debuff, pokemon games is already veeeeeeeery slow, with a lot of messages and stuff, and now I needed to wait an extra animation.
- The evil teams are plain ridiculous.
- The champions felt kinda bland comparing with previous champions.
Gen 1 was your rival, and Gen 2 the previous champion.
-Your rival don't even full evolve their pokemon.
-Not Jhotto post game, i finished the game, i received a ticket for the ship...
I was really waiting for the second quest and.... I just got a boring tower.

-I hated how they don't let me to evolve some pokemon until I finish the pokemon league, and the post game is really short to enjoy my Crobat.
