SingleSalt art
So, I just noticed that all of SingleSalt's art is gone from here - does anyone know why?

they requested to be put on the Do Not Post list, they strongly disagreed with the Admin's decision to allow AI-generated images to be posted here

Speaking as an artist, yeah that's a super valid reasoning. Taking a strong stance aganist AI is very understandable, especially since there are so many people who won't respect wishes to not misuse your art with AI on sites like this.

I can't fault Salt for doing that... and I'm considering doing the same > <

Just popping in to add that we have the blacklist-able tag "ai_art", if anyone wants to avoid seeing it (or at least most of it).

(Not trying to fan the flames or downplay/dismiss any issues, just a genuine suggestion.)

Yeah I get their reasons for leaving. Very valid

If you want to follow them they're on BlueSky at bsky.app/profile/singlesalt.bsky.social

:looks: Oh, I see now ◔_◔. Thanks for clearing that up.

To wit, I don't particularly like AI art and generally avoid giving pieces I spot engagement, but yeah, retreating into your own little anti-AI fortress arc ain't it. The only way out is by continuing to have the discussion. At least you can here, rather than raging away in some self-imposed echo chamber. Lord knows we have enough of that already, sigh~

P.S. Looks like they left a year ago. I don't know what tagging policies were back then, but they seem eminently reasonable now. If there are violations, report them. If you want AI gone completely, well, good luck with that. I'll just say that there are much bigger fish to fry than the admins of some backwater porn site.

To be fair, some people simply don't want too much drama, and they decide to go on, leaving a place that, for one reason or another, is merely not for them anymore. I'm an example of this: while I could easily blacklist some specific topics about AI from some of my past favorite Reddit communities, I still remember how poorly they treated me for being an AI enjoyer that I simply struggled to move over (after calling my mother a "courtesan", which has always been a weakness of mine), so I simply moved away. I can't be mad with the past if it doesn't show up in my feed anymore.

SingleSalt could have this exact same reason, and I don't blame them one bit: far more passionate people, more competent people out there to continue a "confrontation" (which can quickly turn into a "throwing shit" fest, most of the time) on this topic while others simply see something either as a tool or as something it's not worth eating your life out of negative feelings about when there are plenty other things to do with their day.

If they decided to quit it without making a grand display out of it, I 100% respect their decision. If that helps their well-being, it's the best course of action.

Same. But I understand their reasoning for not wanting to engage with the site because of it. We did have a flood of terrible AI art a while back which might have made me avoid the site if I couldn't block the tag
