My beautiful Amazon recruits are becoming beacons of peace across the world; preventing massacres, ending wars, providing emergency aid and deposing would be oppressors. I suppose it is ironic that Death would be leading such a charge. It has never surprised me that mortals misunderstand my intentions, even my purpose. Life is the very reason I exist, I do not seek its end for then I would be alone and that notion haunts me ever still.
It was no surprise that my Lantern Corps' actions drew the attention of the proclaimed superheroes within days of our first successful mission outside of Themyschira. As a statement of intent, I led my Lanterns in preventing a massacre in the nation of Nyasir. I had been tempted to overthrow the religious zealots in power right then, but limited myself to simply reducing the general whom had given the kill order to ashes... in front of the cowardly ruler and all his troops, after my Lanterns had effectively neutralised half the Nyasirian military arsenal.
A bold statement, and I already foresaw the destabilizing effect these actions would have on Nyasir and the surrounding nations. My Black Lantern Corps would act as peacekeepers until all political entities understood the consequences of disregarding the lives of their people, and most importantly until the people understood that we are here to protect life not destroy it.
Fortunately, my regional power shifting did not attract the level of international attention that I had expected. It seemed there had been some other crisis event to distract the majority of world governments that week; honestly not surprising in this world. The frequency of world ending crises is why I'm doing what I'm doing, after all. Plus, I did have the sense not to simply declare the return of the Black Lantern Corps on Earth, that would be considered a world ending crisis on its own.
However, there was one superheroine who did catch wind of the major shift in power. Paid attention to the details of how a catastrophic loss of life in the name of religion had been prevented by a supposed flying army of warrior women clad in black and white.
To meet that superheroine for the first time. It truly brightened my Day of the Dead.

In honour of the Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico we revisit Lady Death's Black Lantern Corps. We've skipped ahead a tad with the recruitment of the first non-Amazon Lantern, Supergirl.
With Lady Death's power increasing with each Amazon she corrupted to her side, so does her control of her life draining touch. Now, with the able to prevent her touch from killing the most powerful of mortals, it will not belong before any mortal woman can know her warm, loving embrace.
Future entries will fill in the gaps for the induction of the Amazons.
