What killed the Dinosaurs? [spoiler] It's generally accepted the impact of the "K/pg Impactor," also known as the "Chicxulub meteorite" or "that big fucking meteor that killed the dinosaurs" led to an impact winter due to the vaporization and dispersion of large amounts of dust and sulfates into the atmosphere. This would've have a catastrophic effect on the global climate, which whether or not dinosaurs were warm or cold blooded, would've led to a collapse of the food chain regardless as plant life died off in mass, causing mass starvation of both herbivores, including and especially herbivorous dinosaurs. This, by extension, led to the starvation of the carnivorous dinosaurs that preyed on these herbivores for food. Ultimately, the only creatures able to survive were predominantly mammals and insects with small enough energy requirements that they could sustain themselves in the new, food-deprived environment.

It's referencing a particularly bad Batman movie in which Mister Freeze makes the joke "What killed the Dinosaurs? The ICE AGE!" before trying to freeze Batman and Robin.
