Not-AmateurThrowaway's Part of the Story: Mister Throwaway did everything with the models here, so any model movement you see in 3D was his work entirely. I suggested things to him, but it was 100% his work on the model animation. I handled everything in what would be call post-production essentially. The result? Almost 3000 frames of nostalgia. I believe this is the longest animation on the Hub (and made for the Hub) as the whole thing weighs in at a staggering 1 minute and 54 seconds.
The goal was to be almost-faithful to Persona 3's UI system which I think I came pretty close to. Now for a few fast facts.
Yukari’s expressions are 100% from the game for maximum “LORE.”
The "Now's My Chance!" text box is a callback to the All-Out Attack prompt and uses some... less than stellar methods for me to pull it off. Essentially, I found the in-game sprite and blanked out the text in Photoshop before adding new text (well duh). However, doing that with the source images presented an issue: the game is from fucking 2006, and so everything has a sort of grain to it as if it was upscaled (making the image bigger than it originally was). Thus, adding text bare just made really sharp, crisp text on a fuzzy background. It looked fucking terrible. So, to replicate that, I made the text into an image and then made it 16X bigger and then resized it back down to add a fuzzy softness to it, then repeated that a few times until it blended well enough to where video compression would take care of the rest.
The blue and black corner was redrawn by me (poorly I know) as the original sprite work for it was missing. The moon and things are just a circle filled in because that was easier than making the not-full-moon textures. The date and then time of day are straight from the game.
The text. Hooo boy the text. It’s saved where every character is an individual frame I typed in Photoshop to allow for maximum smooth. I’m sure there’s an easier way but as AT can maybe tell you: I’m fucking retar- I try for the best I can do and that was giving me the best result. Anyway, the text is 306 images.
Yukari’s sprite enters from the left and exits to the right. Tae’s enters right and exits left. That is all.
If you have any questions feel free to ask! Hopefully you enjoyed the animation. -Vynil

Thanks! That means a lot to both of us. Hopefully me and AT can continue to do larger projects like this over time but it really takes an idea we both like and also a fair amount of time to put it all together as each part has to wait for the other. I can draft ideas and effects over the drafts but a few require the finished product (like the blur effect for time passing).

Lmao. I'll leave that one to AT to answer there but I'll say probably not.

Now this is quality. It's a bit long though
It takes time to tell a short story -.-
