It's a manga about the love between a lesser god (the boy) and his childhood friend/miko in service of him. Basically his family and her family have a pact of having in each generation one member of her family to serve as a messenger of god for a member of his family, in this case, she's his subject. A god will have some kind of power over their subject, can put them in a trance and can ask them to do inhuman feats which they would somehow miraculously be able to do it like instant healing from fatal wound etc.
