I mean, the previous picture ends with them having their eyes forced open by mechanical arms for brainwashing. It seems the brainwashing has left them horribly exhausted and barely coherent. They're utterly broken, with their eye-lids likely being messed up from being forced open for god knows how long. Even if they aren't, those could very well just be very dark bags under their eyes from non-stop conditioning.

Yeah, on paper that's really hot. But they look like those creepy forensic reconstruction mannequins.

It's partly on me - I insisted that Mega draw Mia's head tilted to this side (the original other side looked more natural, but it wasn't the angle I was looking for), but I should have tried to ask he correct the shape of the head somewhat, as it does look strange in retrospect.

Yeah... the head tilt makes it look more like her neck was snapped... or she's been strangled...
