“Heh. No, little knight, I'm not in need of rescue. I wasn't taken; I left. Of my own volition. I thought going beyond the Western Greatwood would be distance enough, but you came all this way regardless... you're a dedicated one."

“Why? Because I was tired of serving. My days were filled with nothing but magiking up whatever that crowned buffoon desired, when he desired it. And he had the gall to tout my spellcraft as his own power and parade me about like a prized doll. If the world were just he'd have been kissing my feet for every incantation.”

“Oh stop wasting your breath bringing up that silly oath. The naive little girl that was eager to give her very soul for king and country is gone. I've grown up, moved on, and I'm done serving.”

“Taken by darkness? Weren't you listening to me? I'm finished serving others. That means I don't obey anybody; not the King, not his silly country, and certainly not some mindless source of power that people dread for no reason. I'm the one giving the orders now, I'm the one in control. Perhaps I should teach you what that means…”

“Still standing? You truly are a paragon. All the more reason to make sure you can't go running back to tell the royal oaf what you found out here.”

“And quite good looking, now that I've knocked away that ridiculous helm. Oh, this is going to be quite enjoyable. But well have to do something about all this resistance, won't we? It was cute at first, but it's welcome is already worn out. Come now.”
