Here's a screen shot from the original Dark Crystal movie. This scene and the earlier one with the poddlings being drained of their life force used to creep me out (and actually still do a little). Jusr glad Kira here was able to break free before she was left a withered, empty shell.

Maybe that's why this movie freaked me out so much when i was a kid, the main characters fell too much into the uncanny valley (not to mention the skeksis were both gross and freaky looking) that scene was just too unsettling for me.
