...Oh good god I remember those enemies being so annoying. Though, hilariously, if they were just about to die they'd turn themselves into a Frog.

Reference to a random encounter enemy then? I only played FF4 once so I don't know :p She does turn all the way into a frog in the sequence at the source link too, I just didn't upload it because TF really isn't my thing.

I never beat 4 but there is a spell in the series that turns you into a frog.

This is a random encounter trash mob, yes. It's some witch (Bog Witch?) who always spawns (if I remember correctly) with ~8 frog enemies. She was really annoying, because she more or less just spammed Frog (the spell, if I have the name correct) while the weak frog mobs whittled you down.

Those fights took forever, were unrewarding in EXP/Gold, and were just generally annoying. How not to make a random encounter 101, indeed.

i would like to see more where the person acts like a frog or other animal. i think its beacuse i first discovered this was sort of a "thing" for me when i watched ed, edd, and eddy when i was younger and eds sister got hypnotized to be a frog.
