I put the demon-girl tag here because, well, Raven's part demon.
I removed it, since she has no demonic characteristics.

What I would add is the character Brother Blood. He's the culprit in this.
he's not in the pic. it could simply be someone who has the same powers.

so? Starfire doesn't have any alien characteristics, and we put use that tag for pics with her. what's the dif?

The difference is visual. Think of it this way. If there was an image of Lacus Clyne from Gundam SEED in pure goth attire. Black hair, red eyes and all that fun stuff, someone may decide to tag that "Pink Hair" because Lacus has pink hair.
However in that particular picture Lacus has black hair. It doesn't matter if she originally has pink hair, in that pic she has black.
So here I am, using the tags for fap fodder and... WAIT. That isn't pink hair at all!!! What is this?!
---
Think of the tags like that. They only exist so people with certain interests can find all the pictures that fit that genre. I don't get off on knowing Raven is half-demon, but I may get off on the pics which have her 6 eyed and multi-armed with sharp teeth. If you can see it, tag it. Knowing something is only about proving how smart the tagger is for knowing more than the picture shows.
Starfire being an alien? I guess some people use the alien tag for multicolored skin babes like the Star Trek green skins and the Mass Effect blue skins. Tamaranians are orange and you can see that from looking at her.
Just use this as your golden tagging rule "Can I see it? Would someone search for it? If someone searched for it, would there be more than 10 results?"

[Lotta stuff...]
While you make a good point it doesn't quite solve the second dilemma. Star Fire is orange but then Raven is completely grey! I find orange to be a more natural skin tone, personally. In any case, couldn't people also use the demon girl tag to search for abnormal skin colors as well?
The policy is to tag what you see and not what you know but in this case I think we should either add the "demon_girl" tag or remove the "alien" one.

My vote is remove alien and possibly start a specific colored skin tag. Cut the knot in half so to speak.
It'd require some real effort to implement it through the archives, though. So if we're feeling lazy just ignore it entirely :)

PS: We also have a "pale_skin" tag that may fit for Raven, or possibly make a "grey_skin" tag.
