My friend: "Watch Eden's Zero. It's totally different from fairy tail."
Me: Slaps this image... "Sure. I can totally see how different they are."

Honestly this was my first reaction since character wise eden's zero looks almost identical to fairy tail (maybe they have the same artist?)
Work got in the way so didn't have the chance to watch it yet, but since I liked fairy tail, I'll assume I will like this too. So hoping to get some free time soon to watch the episodes up till now hehe

It's a long running gag by the creator

Though Eden's Zero has been said to completely ditch the "Power of Friendship" approach that Fairy Tail had
So hopefully people won't just meme the series, and dip

To be fair, Mashima didn't start that idea.

While I don't know about the "Power" part, Shiki, the main character, is very much obsessed with friendship.

So it's an underused trope
The more you know

I'm anime only so far, but from what I've heard the plot is supposed to be more serious than Fairy Tail's
Which is what I meant by the power scaling, and such
Don't like spoilers so I don't know much more than that
And, yeah
Shiki does treasure friendship greatly, but he kinda has his reasons for that which make sense tome
On top of most of the other cast thinking he's silly or weird rather than instantly going along with it
