If you're gonna compare it to SCP, then there are at least 5 redundancies in place to prevent her powers from effecting people. At least one would be the Telekill metal, which has the ability to prevent any form of mental control against the person holding it.

I believe it comes from watching it attentively until your mind goes numb, causing you to 'fall' under the hypnotists influence. As you watch more and more, the mindless monotony causes you to fall into a deeper trance as the mind no longer has to think for itself

I think that is what is meant by 'falling into' the spiral; it's figurative

You could always watch Morrigan closely and find out, like I did @.@
