...
I assume this is based on that blank period between her interaction with the esper and her waking up in Arvis' bed.

Some speculation as to the accuracy of my own translation, I inferred the two names, as well as the implied "me" in the first statement, wholly absent in the text as presented.

I think the names are mostly right. Biggs (I think that's who this "Bix" is) and Wedge are two party members at the start of the game when Tina (can't remember her name for sure), the main protagonist, is under the control of the "Slave Crown", that jeweled headpiece she's wearing.

Well done. And thank you. :)

Tina is her name in Japan. Her English name is Terra (hence the tag). If I remember correctly, the director of Final Fantasy 6 wanted to give the heroine an exotic-sounding name, but a common English name isn't very exotic-sounding to us Westerners.

I get so confused, sometimes. I haven't played 6 in a decade or so (it's my least favorite oldschool FF - don't flame me, bro :P), and I ALWAYS get her name mixed up because, over the years, I played both the Eng and Jap (translated to Eng) versions.

Biggs... Wedge.... Those are both Rebel fighter pilots from Star Wars.

Most likely a hidden reference to Star Wars. As far as I remember those Rebel Fighter pilots died inglorious deaths just like their FF VI counterparts did ^_^...

To make matters even more interesting, an incarnation or reference of Biggs and Wedge have appeared in every main sequence Final Fantasy since VI except for IX and XI, if I recall.

They show up in Chrono Trigger as well, along with Piett (though they spell it Pierre for some reason)

Biggs and Wedge are generic NPCs in Lindblum, if I recall correctly.

Also, Star Wars is referenced a LOT in Final Fantasy, to the point where FF2 (Firion, goddammit) is a nod to the trilogy in general.
