I found a larger version of this (in the source) after I already manipped it. Going to cry in a corner.

Story of my manipping career.

I really like this. There are a few errors around the borders of her eyes, but other than that, this is pretty awesome! Might I ask what you did to get that swirly effect? I think I have a pretty good idea, but I just want to make sure.

Ooh errors, where? I took a look again but couldn't really see it, unless you're referring to the her blush part. Was going to fix that next, but then I found the larger image. Decided to just upload it before I rage-delete the picture (I like to delete things), since some people may like it, and it looks sufficiently complete. That's also why there's no text.

For the swirly effect, I use Distort -> ZigZag on photoshop. In this case it was the 'around the center' option in zigzag.

I mean the black outline of her iris. It's a bit choppy.

Looking at the source, I see that those broken areas of the iris border exist in the original, too. Maybe calling it an error wasn't quite accurate. It just doesn't look right to leave them there, so, while I usually advise against changing the image more than you need to to get the effect you're aiming for, that's one of the few things I'd recommend you consider changing in a manip. It doesn't look bad in the source due to the reflective white spots on her iris, but with those gone, the missing chunks of outline stand out. It's most noticeable in the eye to the right side of the image.

It's no big deal, but I guess you could call it one of my pet peeves.

Ah, thanks. I'm very sure there's an option like that in Gimp. I'll have to find it and mess with it, because I genuinely like how these eyes turned out on your manip.

I don't think there is one quite like that. There is, however, the whirl and pinch tool. Not the same, but a nifty tool nonetheless.

Well, I was actually thinking plugins when I said that. But yes, those tools are nice, too. :P
